I was always confused how switches learn about mac addresses and forward frames when two or more switches are connected to each other. This video has truly made all things crystal clear. Thanks

i followed all the steps but when pinging it tells that destination host unreachable , so i figured out to set up the routing for the routers and then after many tries i cant ping the other side whatsoever, any one can explain whats the possible issue

Don't know how I ended up in a 12 year old video but this seems to still work. I thought for sure this would be outdated but I was wrong. 👍

Unfortunately, all the non-Cisco dual WAN routers, which I tried, transmit data through the failover WAN even when the primary WAN is available and operates stable (pings, analysis data, etc..). Would you know, please, if it is possible to configure the secondary Failover WAN so that no metered data ist transmitted while primary WAN runs stable?

Thank you very much for this breakdown. That magic number was the missing piece, once in place the rest came easily! For someone learning with no prior experience this was a godsend. Thanks again!

@danscourses - I used your videos 14 years ago whilst doing my degree, I then used them when I was teaching, and the learners loved the simplicity of your approach and now I find myself reminding myself of how to do the odd thing which I have not done in a while - and here I am. How you have not got more views I do not know - you should. Amazing support from you. Thanks

I just want to add the 3 in 802.3 came from the fact that the guys from Digital Intel and Xerox were sitting at Table 3 of a restaurant (the Wagon Wheel) in San Jose, when they came up for the specification. The rest is history.
