god this hits hard right now. my girl and I were friends that decided to give it a try. I f'd up from the start. Lie after lie about stupid stuff to satisfy my ego. Never cheated or even thought about it. Just the lies man. Where I stay, why I do this, why I do that. Just pointless lies that wouldn't bother her at all if I told the truth. She loved me that much. I loved her too, that's how I justify the lies I told. Then I spazzed on her a year and some months in about how I was tired from helping her all the time and how much I thought we were moving too fast (we moved in together after 1 year and 15 days). I told her I started arguments to kinda slow us down. I was unsure about a lot, the vast majority was me being unsure about myself. I didn't think I was the man she needed or her daughter needed. I needed to grow to be the man for me, her, and her daughter. I asked her straight up if she was still in love with me and that was the night we broke up (two days before our 16 month anniversary). I was listening to this in the car, 13 days after we broke up, and I damn near cried. I yelled at Amine for making this song lol. I have to let her go but damn it I love her. Our relationship was so pure as friends. Our "first date" was at a bookstore. The day after we broke up, we went out. Got dinner, went to that same bookstore and went to an escape room. My last day with her, I kissed her, told her I love her, and thanked for the best 16 months of my life.
