my yellow wire isn’t getting power and idk why can anyone help?

It shouldn't get power when the ignition is off, only when it's turned on. Check your fuses if you have no voltage when the ignition is on

my radio only has 4.2v in the yellow cable, can this solve my problem?

I think you have something else going on there. I'm not an expert so I'm not really sure what it would be.

How much power do you think this would drain? Do you think it would have the potential to drain the battery in a couple of days? I have an Android touch screen 9" with wifi head unit that I am considering wiring up to constant but not sure how much it would drain in standby or even if it goes into standby at all?

It shouldn't drain very much at all. The 12V constant wire is really only to keep enough power going to the head unit so it saves your settings. Your stock head unit uses it as well. Sorry for the delayed response

I cant figure out what wire on my harness is the constant 12v. Is there an easy way to find that?

Yellow wire is always constant

You can buy a simple circuit tester for pretty cheap to find it, as it's not always a yellow wire like the previous comment says. Check out my other video for how to use the tester. You will be using it the same way but test the wires with the key in the off position. When the tester lights up, you've found it.

What fuse do you connect it to
@davidphipps5382
@davidphipps5382 Жыл бұрын
That's directly to the battery, but you can always put an inline fuse as well.

my radio when i turn it up with subs wired in it will turn off, i have my red power wire ran from the radio to my ignition fuse in my truck, i’m thinking the subs are pulling to many amps through the 15 amp fuse? if so would i run the power wire to the batter like you did with your yellow?
@davidphipps5382
@davidphipps5382 11 ай бұрын
@@univrsl5626 your amp for the subs should be pulling directly from the battery. Power wire from amp should be hooked up to the battery, ground to the chassis. I would assume it's not getting enough juice through the fuse and shutting off to protect the circuit.

Rewire your power wire so it connects straight to the positive post on your battery. You will also want to make sure you have a fuse somewhat close to the battery so you don't have a live wire if you ever need to disconnect the power from the amp. I don't have a video of that yet, but I should probably do one to show how mine is wired. The only wire you can hook to the ignition fuse from your amp is the acc wire. That wire only pulls enough juice to turn the amp on when the car turns on. Personally though, I would probably wire it to the radio fuse instead so it turns on with the radio instead of as soon as you turn on the car. Hope that helps fix your stereo issues, life sucks driving with no tunes. Sorry for the late response.

My acc wire won’t light up at all, my radio won’t turn on but the trip button and setting button still work. 😕

Did you check your fuses? Specifically the radio fuse in the fuse box.

need some help please my ground wire touch the yellow wire and I think a fuse blow but I now can't see where the problem is I've replaced the stereo fuse on fuse board the stereo fuse on the actual stereo is good but stereo stills not turning on what could be??

Did you check the car's main fuse box? There should be a fuse labeled "Radio", check and make sure that fuse isn't blown. If it is then you won't have power to your radio at all.
