The prince in Snow White is actually a total creep. He finds her lifeless body in the woods one day and becomes obsessed with her beauty, going so far as to persuading the dwarves to allow him to take her body back to his castle. Also, I believe she is 13-15 years old in the original story. Major creep. So that part is true but the entire theme of the story IS ABOUT TRUE LOVE! And what's wrong with that? Snow White is still a strong female character, she evaded her evil stepmother several times and learns to take care of herself with help from the dwarves...while also dreaming of one day finding "her prince". Its ridiculous to assume both can't be true. What is wrong with wanting to be loved?!? Doesn't everyone want to be loved? C'mon now.

I think it's nice to go for your dreams rather than just marry and get tied down. Destiny that is not marriage at a young age, is also a fairytale. Love and leadership can co-exist. But, only love n marriage and then the fairytale ends there is so housewife. It influences young girls to not aspire beyond. So I understand the good intentions of the Disney creators. If only they didn't change too much, didn't cast RZ and stayed true to the tale but tweaked this one bit, I think it could've been wholesome

I’m pretty Snow White and the Prince have like 1 interaction with each other in which he sings to her. Maybe it’s weird but I’m not sure it’s stalking. Also, they get married at the end so it’s kind of assumed that if you’re older than like 5 years old, that you can understand there might have been a previous relationship or acquaintanceship there. In the book, the Snow White character is used a lesson for girls who do not follow male leadership, so I’d say that the 1937 movie giving Snow White any form of agency or leadership over the dwarves is pretty radical given the source material and the timing. It’s almost like Rachel Ziegler doesn’t understand anything about the film she’s starring in or something.

Team Cooper, right here. - If Zegler, or rather Disney, had any respect for the source material or, hell, even the creation of their own founder (!!!), I would've surely enjoyed this live adaptation. But they insisted on giving it a "modern spin". I couldnt care less who Zegler is or what she thinks, I dont care about actors in general, I only care about the movies. But if they take the romance away and everything that made Snow White a heroine... No thank you. I dont watch a fairy tale movie only to get to see another girl boss.

As a brownskinned person of colour, I see snow white, lord of the rings, star wars.... As mythologies and legends from another group of people. People who are rich and have enough money to make movies about it. My culture has as many amazing legends and myths and stories which will blow your mind, but our film industry doesn't have that big a budget.... So we don't have bug budget films about it. BUT.... In this is age of internet and I have access to the best legends and stories of this world. I know the elves are fair and tall. The princess is white. I also know the history and geography of the world. So black elf who is and integral part of the elf.... Is unbelievable to me. There must be an explanation of how he came to be there, how he was accepted as one amongst the elves. Etc etc. For depicting modern world... You write new epics, New myths. New legends. Which numerous TV series and movies are. You cannot take historical pieces and butcher them. They were written at time and they act as time capsules. And they are enjoyable because of exactly that. If I want to see myself represented, I would rather see my cultural story as a whole in a movie. And every token white guy in that movie would be cringe to me. When I saw snow white trailer, it seemed like my school play... Rather than an original story from the house that made that story.

This reminds me of the time Kristen's and Lilly's versions of Snow White came out almost at the same time and everyone was taking sides, meanwhile I was just excited to see two versions of this Disney classic because both looked so good. In this case it's not the same. I'm not excited for Rachel's version at all and I didn't even knew the other version from Brett but from that teaser it looks pretty cool and really makes me want to see a more longer teaser of it.
