I am astounded with what happened in this race. Sierra Leone probably would have won. He was certainly the best there. Did you see him close the distance at the end? What a colt! Dornoch too. Wow. What a race. And WHAT exactly WAS that? I want to give a talking to to Tyler Gaffone. That was incredibly unfair. However, I would rather this and no penalty than the rules being too tight and penalties every race-kind of like what happened to Basketball. You can’t play the sport properly anymore! If this ever happens to racing, I will…I don’t know what I would do. I’d be mad, for one. Good day, ya’ll. Sierra Leone forever!

Good morning horse racing fans. Do y'all truly believe that Tyler gafflione internationally bumped Sierra Leone to prevent him from winning the race? That is a very serious accusation. That could prevent him from acquiring future mounts on big horse races. I am not sure if I agree with that one. It seems incidental to me. If you go back and look at Gafflione races he hardly never cuts to the inside when he comes around the last turn because he doesn't like the rail. I would like to hear his comments about the race. But if it was intentional. Then he should be sanctioned for that. Don't forget that Leone bumped and cut off antiquarian down the stretch and threw him off stride. What do yall think about that? I am a Sierra Leone fan. I picked him to win the race and would have loved to see him win.
@NChan-hg2hyКүн бұрын
Tyler kept protective out in the middle of the track up the backside when he could of dropped down and saved some ground. Why? Prat said he couldn't drop down cause he was being packed wide up the. backside. You don't want to save some ground in a 1 1/4 race? Were they using this Maiden as a blocker for Mainframe? Yes Sierra Leone lugged in but the discussion is what was Tyler doing during the race?
@ivanboesky1520Күн бұрын
BS! SL created most of his own problems in this race with his poor break and his lack of early tactical speed. That’s reality! SL was not bumped by Mindframe. Mindframe came out of the gate clean and straight and SL broke poorly. Mind frame is under no obligation to wait for SL to “catch up” before starting his move towards the rail! The camera angle makes it look like Mindframe came in a lot when he did not because of SL’s poor break. Then SL ducked sharply to the inside all on his own and caused ALL the contact with the # 8 horse. Then in the stretch he once again lugged in sharply as usual and almost knocked Antiquarian off his feet. (another foul committed by SL that was not called, but should have been). Yes, SL got floated out at the top of the stretch and bumped and he wasn’t winning that race anyway. He simply lost. Again! SL got beat to the wire by a horse (Mindframe), who came into this 1 1/4 mile race at a massive foundation disadvantage to all the other entrants having only had 2 lifetime races and only 1 of them a route at a mere 1 1/16th. That is why he tired in the stretch. It wasn’t because Dornoch out gamed him as the BS artists are claiming. It’s because he tired a bit from the large foundation disadvantage he was running with. That’s reality! In the Travers, that huge foundational difference will no longer be in play as Mindframe will have both this race under his belt plus likely another route race in July (either the Haskell or Jim Dandy). And when the Travers is run in late August, Mindframe is going to dust both Dornoch and SL by open lengths with that extra foundation under his belt. You can bookmark this post. It’s going to happen! 😀

He was not bumped by Mindframe. Mindframe came out of the gate clean and straight and it only looked like he came in a bit because SL broke so slow and slightly out himself. It’s the camera angle making it look like Mindframe came in because of SL’s poor break. Then SL ducked sharply to the inside all on his own and caused ALL the contact with the # 8 horse. Then in the stretch he once again ducked in as usual and knocked another horse inside of him. He simply lost. Take nothing away from Dornoch. But this was a speed favoring track all weekend. Tyler knew exactly what he was doing keeping Sierra Leone wide up the backstretch and bumping him into the stretch.Whether it was race riding or revenge we will never know but Tyler needs Chad more than Chad needs Tyler so we all see what happens in the future. Yes Sierra Leone is his own worse enemy but on a fair track he is the best 3yo in the country. To those who say Sierra Leone needs a new trainer that is laughable.

It seems that Sierra Leone gets into trouble in many of his races. Is that everyone else fault? Is this a worthy favorite?
@charleslockhart6778Күн бұрын
Tyler Gafflione seemed to know exactly where Sierra Leone was and kept him out wide on two turns and then bumped him hard as they turned into the stretch. No more Chad Brown horses for Tyler Gafflione. However, the race was won by Dornoch. He ran the Preakness winner into submission then took on Mindframe and after looking him in the eye turned him away. Not the first time we have seen that fight from this horse. I think he will become the best 3 year old in this crop by the end of the year.

Absolutely. The next morning I wanted to see the replays and then I saw this. The head on replay is much worse with what Tyler did to Prat. Tyler was also running 5 off the rail in the backstretch just to keep Prat wide. Chad Brown mentioned it yesterday so I don’t think he will be too anxious to put Tyler on his horses. I will be checking to see if he does but I sincerely doubt it. Such a big race didn’t deserve Tyler making it about him being replaced. He should get a hefty fine and Prat should have spoken up about it.
