Attended GIT 1980. Tommy spoke and played often. Excellent sense of humor and amazing stories... Got to attend a motion picture film recording session at a Burbank studio, with full orchestra. Good times...

A real gem. Everyone has heard TT on soundtracks, jingles and albums. This is the first album of his I’ve heard. I’m knocked out!

I have to comment again! This album is a masterpiece. A work of genius. Enjoyed Tommy’s sense of humor in the Musicuans Institute Throw Back from early 90’s. Sorry for your loss, Denny and Dale. Tommy was the best. Inspired me to pick up the guitar again as I am a drummer and this album is my guitar lessons. God bless.

@daletedesco....do you play guitar, or any other instruments? I learned to play because MY dad played, but wasn't a pro. Dad was just an "around the house" guitarist / vocalist. Hope to hear back from you! :)

Slatkin at his best, getting a great performance of this evocative masterwork from his orchestra. Superb.

Mr Tiger, do you have anymore of Tommy Tedesco’s discography similar to this album? More solo works? This is a diamond in the rough.

I've been a rabid Randi fan for years. Now I've gotten real interested in this drummer Eddie Rubin after realising how good he plays rock 'n' roll on the first two Johnny Rivers Whiskey A Go Go albums.

Yes indeed, "AndSendMe", this is THE ONE !!! My favorite version of this symphony no matter how many come and go. Too bad Rachmaninov died thinking this symphony was a failure. If anything would bring Sergei back to life, this performance would certainly do it.

I have an old set of Groves Dictionary on Music that my mom bought, decades ago. In it, the author wrote that R. was no good. For the last 23 years, the entire set of Groves has sat outside my house for feral cats to urinate on and when the day comes that my son will have to clean up the place, that set will be transported to the land fill where along with all other academia, it will find it's proper place in the universe, with some extra bear excrement as a final touch. NEVER listen to academics, listen to your heart.

The Summer of ‘65 and into ‘66 is when The Doors we’re about to explode on the music scene. Robbie Krieger probably enjoyed the Flamenco guitar style TT was playing. Great album. Denny Tedesco is working hard on some TT projects too. Stay tuned!

The last timpani stroke at 18: 02 is a little bit sharp in pitch

At 18:01 we hear a solid timpani stroke on the note E natural on the higher pitched timpani drum. The composer actually intended that the last note be played by the lower string section of the orchestra. Thankfully many conductors opt for the timpani stroke substitution . BRAVO to Svetlanov for doing so !!!

There is a bit of 'Aguas de Marco' in the mix! Which is good. The concept of freedom is a bit limited - friends and family. Nothing on economic issues, social issues and oppression.

Thank you for uploading this music. I listen to it every day all throughout the house. It is inspired me to write a lot of songs myself as a musician. I play drums, piano, acoustic guitar, and bass and it is really giving me a great solid foundation of the style of music. Thanks again for uploading it Mr. Tiger.

Discovered this recording ( same great record jacket) in 1970 and it has been my touchstone ever since. My time as a professional orchestral player was pretty quick and I found something a good bit easier and a hell of a lot better paying to do in life but I do/,did have some nominal chips to say hats off. In addition to the strings, the winds: Gigliotti, Tabateau ? Monroe?
