Is it difficult to take the quad apart for powder coat?
@PowerLineRacing875 күн бұрын
I will say no not at all however it depends on your skill set. Machines come natural to me. But I would ask is it hard to create an excel spreadsheet. And for me it would be. 😅
@pnwatv50945 күн бұрын
@PowerLineRacing87 thanks, ive taken cars apart and done motor swaps I think I can do it, I'm guessing plastics, harness, drain coolant, pull motor n Trans then suspension, arms and rear end leave axle in sound correct?
@PowerLineRacing875 күн бұрын
@@pnwatv5094 yah it depends on how deep you want to go. Like if you want to powder coat the swing arm you’ll have to fully disassemble the axle, carrier and pivot bolt bearings/sleeves.

Trying to decide between the forex visionair intake or trash panda. Any input?
@PowerLineRacing87Ай бұрын
I would say the Trash Panda will work very well and likely be easy to install being that it’s rubber and will flex a bit between frame and rear shock. It retains the factory air box which is good for filter concealment if that’s important to you. You can also run pre filter lids if you wanted. I’m sure it’s splitting hairs but the internal volume of the VisionAir is likely a bit larger due to the very thin but strong and light weight carbon fiber vs the rubber Trash Panda intake. The VisionAir is going to be lighter overall but it is definitely a bling piece in many ways. It looks amazing, fits well. Was a little bit of a chore installing and it’s a wide open box. Lots of pluses and minuses. Depends on how you’ll be riding. I will definitely be buying the VisionAir again for my next build! 🤙🏽⚡️ Good luck!

Why the KTM throttle body over the RP? Great looking machine btw.
@PowerLineRacing872 ай бұрын
Hey thank you! Ya know I didn’t necessarily buy the KTM throttle body for any specific reason other than it was the more common TB upgrade on the national builds. Now though all the pros are switching to the RP. We have the 45mm RP TB on the 2010 YFZ. It works great and got solid numbers on the dyno while paired with the RP intake, exhaust and Vortex. One difference between the KTM TB from Wienen Motorsports and the RP is that the KTM comes fully built. When you buy the RP you have strip down your stock TB and use the TPS, Fuel rail, injector throttle cable cam… No big deal, just nice to know. KTM is like $1200 and the 45mm RP is $620.

@PowerLineRacing872 ай бұрын
Haha yah it’s definitely a cool view. Works pretty well just make sure you have a good connection/setup for the GoPro and maybe a tether. That weekend at Washougal I had it break off twice but I think it was an issue with fitment (GoPro built in mount) and tightening the clamp down too hard. Moving forward I will only use the protective GoPro case.

@@Floridawoodsbanshee just be mindful of using the mounting tabs built into the GoPro. Use an external case. The built in fold out connection point on the GoPro have a slimmer design and when you really tighten down the screw it will deform the receiving connection causing it to break.

With these parts I get a reasonable performance increase with smooth linear power and am setup to start doing internal mods in the future. (Stock YFZ450R 38~ hp and 28~ torque)

hey, how is the RC-8 on your YFZ450R? I put the "Pro Taper Profile Pro Clutch Perch" but doesnt fit right. is like slipping the clutch. I have it with the little adjutable wheel all the way out almost to the point of going out looking for another option. the YFZ450R is not listed on ARC as "compatible" but that can just be bad website documentation. let us know thanks
@PowerLineRacing875 ай бұрын
I am still building and have not finished my clutch lever setup yet. So I cannot speak to the RC-8 however if you have made all the adjustments you can on the perch, have you tried adjusting the clutch cable its self? There are adjustments midway on the cable beneath the gas tank.

I like this perspective a lot. I think I know why my camera broke off twice that weekend. The built in mounting tabs on the 11 are spaced slightly wider so I think when I tighten down the lock nut I stressed the mount and then they snapped off after some hard core rattling.
