Hello Tracy.. I am so glad I found your flosstube.. I loved all of your projects they were beautiful! And wow are you a fast stitcher. I’m also a monogamous stitcher for the most part😂. I think if I had more than 2 going at the same time I would be to stressed! I’m 66 years old and have been married 46 years. I have cross stitched for ever but really picked it back up in 2019 when my husband had to have a quadruple heart bypass. And now I can’t get enough. I have 2 daughters and 1 son, from my son 1 granddaughter that is 17 and from my youngest daughter I have 1 granddaughter that is 7 and 1 grandson that is 4.. all of them are the joy of my life! I am in TN, have 3 kids (boys) , my dad is in the early stages of dementia, I LOVE the Chiefs!!! I jumped on the proverbial bandwagon last year and I was hooked. Didn’t miss a game last year and I’m excited for this year. You know they play in Atlanta this year?? I mean I could go for a road trip 😂. But the best part is you showed the stitch you did for your son and I screamed.. my husband’s name is Michael Gerald 😮, my granddaughter was born on Jan 22 🤯🤯. It is destiny for us to be friends!!!! 🤣🤣 I’m so happy I ran across you on KZfaq and I can’t wait for Karen to join you. I know I’ll love her too!! Happy stitching ❤

My son at 9:16 pm and two years later, my daughter at 9:15 am! I told the Dr I would have waited for that one minute if I had known the time! What part of Tennessee are you located in? Hello Tracy, I am also a monogamous stitcher. I learned to stitch & quilt in 1990, quilting took over until FQS Cross Stitch University... I have stitched many patterns but not FFO'd them yet. I have been working on Prairie Schooler Santa's as well for Christmas in July right into August. To save your edges maybe try a back stitch around in a cheap thread. I zig zag mine. A Stitch Guide has helped me start with 1,2 or 3" margins. My 1st PS Santa has no border, oops 😬 . Look forward meeting your BF. Happy Stitchin' from Canada 🇨🇦

@@d.r.schellhaas3679 Thank you so much for your kind words! I’ve always been somewhat TOO honest, but the truth will set us all free, right? I figure we all have trials, tribulations and issues that if we honestly share, we might be able to ease someone else’s burdens to know that we all go through it. It just helps to know that you have others that are in your same boat and why not have all of us row together to get to our destination? Sharing our burdens eases the load. When I first got married, my hubby was in the military. I would talk to girlfriends about how much his paycheck was each payday in order to get ideas on how to make it stretch! I figured “we are all the same rank so we all get paid the same!” Hubby said “can you stop doing that? That should be private.” Hahahaha. My little naive self didn’t know that was taboo. So sorry about the loss of your dad. When you talk about your mom, it so reminds me of my mom. In her final stages of dementia she had stopped communicating too but would smile at everyone ,except at the hospice CNA when she would bath her lol but when she finished she was all smiles again. Like you, I would wonder about if she knew I was her daughter even though she seemed to recognize my face. I had a nurse tell me that it didn’t matter if she knew me, I knew her and she was my mom and that was what mattered. That has always stuck with me. Great Hobby Lobby haul and I love the idea of using the smaller pieces on the larger ones.

@@sarasstitches Oh Sara, I’m so sorry you had to go through this as well. It’s worse than just “the long goodbye”, isn’t it? My Mom has a DNR, but that only applies when her body shuts down, not while her mind is diminishing. It’s just an awful situation for all involved. Also I’m having to use 50% castor oil and olive oil for my brows , my hair dresser told me it really works to bring them back out, mine have been fading out for years. Seems to be working. Just joined you this morning. I’ve been stitching and quilting for over 40 years and sewing for over 60 years. Your question about what to do is first get a cross stitch key that has holes in it to lace at the edge of your fabric and put your needle up at either 1 1/2” or 2” or 2 1/2” that way the choice is yours and you won’t start to close to the edge. Second you can use from old floss 4 strands and do a back stitch all the way around your cloth. Even better if you can fold an edge under like a him this would stop the fraying all together. I use a zig zag or serger to do my edges and if my cloth is small then I sew cotton fabric around the stitch cloth to make it bigger to fit in my q-snap or what ever I’m using. Happy stitching

Hello! I think your video was great! I find finishing difficult too. When starting a new project I use the fabric calculator either on fatquater shop or lindystitches, from that info I measure my fabric and so far I have been able to center things alright. I’m not a center starter so I always try to measure literally with a ruler. It’s not perfect because the “tightness” varies with brands and whatnot, but that’s how I get close enough to not mess things up too badly 🤞😂. You are very natural on camera. I’m excited to meet your friend someday when it works out. I hope you continue to make videos. I don’t have many projects ever going either. I have one in timeout, a new small I’m almost done with and one large full coverage. My brain can’t handle having much more than that undone either! I enjoy watching whatever people have to show, all the things or just a few of them. They are all special things to us as individuals 😊.
