It’s a great bass! Lots of sounds options. I don’t use the active circuit. But is still very allround. Lots of definition in the B string!

I just ordered a P Bass for 180. - from Amazon and a set of the Labellas for it. I'm pretty sure it will sound good. I wanted to have a dedicated flatwound (and foam) P for the Jamerson thing and I figure I'll be able to get close even with a cheap bass. As long as the strings are good and i'm changing the pickup.

I did it. I got a Sawtooth P bass. I reshaped the neck, new bridge, Copper shielding, new pickups and pots, It's perfect. I did go with TI Jazz Flats instead of the labellas. I really like them. So including the strings a killer Motown bass for under 300.-. I'm happy@@BassenmetBoris

TI makes a short scale set of the same type used on this Epi. I’ve never played the shorts but I’ve got the TT JF344 long scale flatwounds on my P-Bass and it oozes that 60’s Motown funk every time I play it! Gorgeous warm tone! TI’s are expensive but they last forever. Just put ‘em on, tune up, and play!

I think so, sounds lot lake a synth to me. But maybe it's doubled with electric bass.
