I had the same experience at Nashville. I, too, was insulted at the difference in actual vs posted speed. I get it. They can’t let untrained people drive an unlimited race car. But some of us can and have some experience and can handle higher speeds. I enjoyed my experience but would have liked to have gone faster. I never got close to the handling limits on my car.

Honestly, I’d rather take my personal vehicle around the track than one of theirs. Would be more fun, and faster than their rev limited speed.

Hi Mike, there a Ford 2016 Interceptor in our country (Kurdistan-Iraq). I liked it because I had a Ford Expl and I like strong vehicles. I searched the VIN websites for it, but none gave the image of the vehicle to check for damages. They even gave different info (one says 3 seat rows, another says 2 rows, one says 3.5 engine, another says 3.7..etc). I searched the web and found that it has three versions (Basic, XLT..etc.). How can I know which version it is? I couldn't even find the user manual (pdf) on the web. Its owner says it has three places repaired, one is the front half of the front hood. The owner wants $15,000 which is about 1000-3000 down the price of Explorer 2013.

I have been thinking about doing this over the years. Now I’m not a Winston cup champion but have raced go karts competitively. Won championships at local track as well as state. Ran ucar division afew years so I would expect the experience to be worth spending over 3,000. I know you can’t set a track record in these cars but would be very disappointed going 120 mph at a mile and a half track. I saw one video of a guy hitting his marks at these low speeds and the car just broke loose out of nowhere. Again. I know you’re not going to have a fresh set of sticker tires on the car. But these tires were basically junk that a late model driver would dismount and trash. I think before doing this experience I’d buy a grand stock car and go racing at a local short track every Friday night. Ty for showing us the inside scoop they don’t want us to know
@Werdisbond2 ай бұрын
Man…why can’t you just enjoy the experience of driving a cool stock car on a racetrack? I don’t think you would’ve been even able to handle going 160mph. I know I probably couldn’t. I would be happy going 100mph in a stock car. I want to try this!

I just did the Nascar Experience at Richmond and i did not like the new format , they said 6 to 10 laps for 8 minutes . Liked it better when i did the Richard Petty at Charlotte , then it was by laps and had a follow car .

Top speed of my BMW E46 M3 11 since 2009 is around 175 mph. I've had that car going pretty damn fast at Sebring race track during high speed Driving Experience several times. I think the NASCAR Experience might be anti-climatic if they're limiting you that much these days
@deplorabledave10484 ай бұрын
The straightaway at Talladega is almost a mile long at 4,000 ft. That's where I would like to do my NASCAR Experience if they offer it there anymore. I don't know. They did years ago. They had students who were trusted enough and allowed to actually Hit That 160 mph speed. These days you probably have to bribe somebody to make that happen
@deplorabledave10484 ай бұрын
The only track where at least you used to be able to go pretty fast and I don't know about these days but 10 to 15 years ago the track where you should actually reach 160 mph was Talladega. Much longer track much longer straight away and they gave some of the students more leeway. I'm sure all that's disappeared now unfortunately

It is a felony to have red and blue flashing lights and or a siren on your vehicle. It is a felony to impersonate a cop in any way shape or form and for good reason. That's why they always remove the markings, lights, and siren.

Is this even a real man? “It smells terrible. Smells like gasoline”. I’m a track engineer for a NASCAR race team, and every so often I get to be the one to run a car up and down our team property (at normal speeds), but damn every time I get a whiff of the gasoline smell at startup…..BEAUTIFUL.

The wiff of race gas fumes and the smell of raw unburnt gasoline are two very different things. But you are right, I'm much less of a man for having an opinion of a smell. lol.
