I think the bigger lesson in the marshmallow study isn't about delay gratification - it's about people understanding if then causality. There are so many lessons in the study. Just think of the way some children look away. Don't tempt yourself. Don't put yourself in that position. If you need to, distract yourself. Another valuable lesson is that delay gratification to be jealous and resentful of the success of others. The question is where is the balance between present and future oriented living. Because you can't just live in either

i mean it's not like advaita is not useful.. it is very much useful to reach that final goal but it doesn't care there after.. because the point may lie there after.. that all of this stupid play can occur again and you have gained nothing by previously realising yourself.. i mean you haven't gained the power of stopping this madness.. which you might plunge into again.. because that's what you are in currently so there is no garuntee that wouldn't happen again.

Pure existence is Awareness. Everything manifests from Awareness. So, Consciousness is a product of the brain; no brain no consciousness. If you say Consciousness is not a product of your body (as this Sawi is saying), then it is a pure Concept of the mind (again a product of the brain). If it is a concept of the mind, then it is an object created by the mind (and therefore ILLUSION). Most of what he is saying amounts to word salad created by the mind in a desperate attempt to explain this mysterious world and also to find a way to decrease suffering in this world, which mostly originates due to improper mapping of input in your brain due to all kinds of invalid initial states that one has carefully nurtured over his/her lifetime. Even God cannot save anyone from suffering. You are alone and salvation only comes from within. Charvaks were right (except for the part where they allegedly enjoyed incessant drinking 24 hours a day, mostly likely made up by those whose livelihood (priests and swamis) was threatened by the statement "Salvation ONLY comes from within.".

Another poetic expression of The Gita I feel is the poem 'If' by Rudyard Kipling. I am sharing my own interpretation of The Gita below (based on my reflections). MY INTERPRETATION: Both "peace" and "violence" are inevitable and inseparable facets of existence. Everyone and everything's existence is both creative and destructive from moment to moment - be it the smallest sub-atomic particles or the largest structures in the cosmos (morphing from one particle to another is a violent process that is both simultaneously creative and destructive, and in deep space, stars and black holes are gobbling material from other stars and black holes -- so there's violence at all levels of existence, helping to create, destroy, regulate as necessary). Creation involves destruction, and in destruction there is also creation taking place. What we deem as a "normal" or "good" existence is also immensely violent toward other humans, species, ecosystems, be they living or non-living. Our desire for resources - food/water, energy, manufacturing, drilling, mining, consumerism, diamonds/jewelry/fashion etc. drives conflicts between people, causes genocides elsewhere, destroys ecosystems, wastes resources and wipes out other species. Even a hermit's survival and sustenance is underpinned by violence, as he/she relies on certain basic infrastructure designed by nature or by nature's agents, wrought on by violence in either case. But this is all OK. No matter what we do, this equilibrium would hold. Action or Inaction will lead to the same overall equilibrium. If we live like a hermit/renunciate, then we will be accused of indifference; of not using our faculties to help ourselves and others, accused of not protecting them from violence and the hardships of life. If we do interfere in the world's affairs, then we will be accused of bias and not understanding context, and causing a chain reaction of violence. Either way, there would be violence. Which is why in the Gita, Arjuna is made aware of his delusion that if he abstains from war there will be no violence, which is a fallacy, as there's always violence at every level of existence, because of your action or inaction. Krishna was not expressly opposed to Arjuna not fighting, rather he wanted Arjuna to confront his rationale and re-think his decision in light of these insights. You can think of the divine/nature/consciousness/God (whatever label you wish to apply) as the number ZERO - manifested as infinity (as positive & negative numbers - so-called "good" and "bad", matter/anti-matter, attributes and their opposites) & thereby remaining in equilibrium (MOKSHA). This is consistent with Einstein's E = M equation. 0 is both NOTHING and EVERYTHING (infinity) simultaneously. The divine is both the hunter and the hunted. It is both the victor and the vanquished. Triumph & Disaster - the two impostors (lila). By manifesting as everything including their opposites - experiencing reality through myriad forms and from every perspective/vantage point (lila), the divine remains in a non-judgmental equilibrium state, unperturbed, like the 0. However, for it to be in equilibrium, it MUST manifest as everything, including the not-so-pleasant states of existence. You cannot have roses and not have thorns. Our individual selves (the numbers) are the expressions of our macro-self (the Zero). Each number possesses certain unique characteristics and therefore is judgmental of the other numbers, comprehending only a small subset of the whole. As a consequence, it is compelled to manifest (re-incarnate) as the other numbers that it judged. If we fail to put ourselves in someone else's shoes then nature will make us wear those shoes at some point in our evolution (even if it takes another life). At the same time it is okay to judge and trust that nature will do its job. With everything that's going on in the world every second, it is impossible to wear all the different shoes simultaneously (am I to feel happy that a family is celebrating the birth of a child or feel sad that another family is mourning the death of a loved one?). Trying to forcibly be non-judgmental prevents us from living spontaneously and in the present. Our macro-self (the Zero) is already in a non-judgmental equilibrium state which it experiences by manifesting as us and our opposites. When a state of existence reaches a certain extreme tipping point, there is no option but to veer to the other extreme. The further back you pull the bowstring, the farther the arrow lands. Extreme violence will drive someone to seek extreme peace (just as extreme greed will drive someone toward extreme fear). Extreme peace will lead to circumstances that will invariably drive someone (in this life or the next) to indulge in extreme violence. Our universe/region of space-time (part of the eternal multiverse) is itself born from a seeming state of extreme peace leading to a burst of activity (violence) that was bubbling underneath. My interpretation of Sanatana philosophy is that there is no permanent escape into some oblivious state from which no re-emergence is possible. If that were true, our present epoch/universe would not exist. That is, the 0 is not a true void/nothing, it is always manifested as infinity, i.e., there is always incarnation. The underlying homogeneous consciousness/energy field, manifested as the heterogeneous/diverse cosmos that is observed. Everyone and everything is enlightened along all points in time, from moment to moment. There is no enlightenment to chase in some future state. From the 0's vantage point, there is no passage of time, because there is no change, and time = change or the perception of change. The above explanation makes Sanatana philosophy both monotheistic and polytheistic. Both sides of the equation (E = M) are valid - one is not lesser than the other as is commonly believed.
