I was a climber for 35 years in La. And Ms. No helicopters. I have had some shitty crane operators almost take me out numerous times. They won’t get it away fast enough and it’ll swing back. Never piss the operator off. He can get you. Btw. I met a man that put up big power lines across the La. swamps for 30+ years as a pilot. He said he was wasted on pain killers and booze every time.

Everybody talked about how the tree removal was done this way to save the grounds from being damaged. Ok, I can understand that. Especially if you have the money to afford this kind of tree removal, BUT.. What about the ugly stumps left behind?? If they were THAT picky about those trees and the yard, they wouldn't just leave the stumps! How was THAT part of the job handled?? They must have retired after doing this job. They don't have any more videos about tree work. Out anything else for that matter. This job obviously paid extraordinarily well considering they bought a whole fleet of brand new saws just for this job! Lastly, looking at the terrain and the grounds, I saw no real good reason to HAVE to use a helicopter to get the material out. It sure did make for some interesting video AND conversation about the why's and what fors of doing it this way!

Too bad there was the shifty music. Should have just let us hear the helicopter.

I watch two videos about helicopter and youtube recommend me this video. Well.. Thank you youtube. This kind of interesting to watch. Last video i watched is about pruning trees using helicopter alongside the powerline, now cutting down the tree. Interesting indeed..

The way we do helicopter removals here is to lower a running chipper down on top of the tree and chip it in place. No sawing and the chips just blow away.

I’ve used 90 ton cranes, blocked down some 200’ firs and redwoods. I can’t figure out why you’d need a helecoptor for this job? Maybe block everything down and chopper it out but why cut from in the tree?!? Too many variables for my risk tolerance.
