im a record producer & I never realized how messy this song sounds. the arrangement & performances are super clean but the sound is messy. guess that's what gives it such a "cool" feeling.

I hope he doesn't ever read into garbage questions like this because rather than staying in the same state Alex has and is evolved/evolving - you know as people get older, some of that stuff you did when you were young doesn't stick like it did, but you evolve it - rush is an excellent example of this. Alex and his style have aged like the best bottle of red wine in the world. He's breaking new ground - if i want to hear some of his older impossible to reproduce stuff like from the ritz to the rubble I'll listen to that - his newer stuff is built brand new from the ground up and its breaking new ground - Going back to rush , I'm sure people generations before me criticized or pondered the new direction taken in the 80s to synth wave - but today that's what I love about rush - they reinvented their sound every album in sort of era phases - AM is built to last and I just want to watch the chips fall where they may because from the inception to the present it's been one hell of a ride - there is no better active band or artist for that matter that is out there the way Alex and AM are. I hope we're discussing this decades from now when he's as old as tony bennett - blowing our very old minds

We all know why his vocals changed…he went to America and shall we say, sniffed some things. That’s why his voice is starting to slow down. 😎

The guy is 38 years old now...there is no reason for him to re-hash his old emotions and life. - His acne is gone and he probably uses nice cologne with his wardrobe now - he is mature.

How the influence of The Beatles is noticeable! Since I heard the song for the first time I noticed that detail, it reminds me of "Tomorrow never knows" (what a great album "Revolver' is!). 🤩

I don’t think his vocals have gotten worse, I just think that he’s changed the tambre of his voice over the years to suit their newer, softer style. His voice has evolved to be a lot softer and melodic. If anything I think his voice has gotten better and more refined

I honestly appreciate the demo lyrics of this song more because I think they tie in perfectly with the whole "fear and hope of technology" Matt was talking (well, rambling), about in an interview: "I never meant to love these machines/But they obey my commands adeptly" in particular. It's something that pops up in some of the b-sides written around that period as well (Pink Ego Box, anyone?), and in general it's just such a common theme around the turn of the millennium (the advent of the Internet, Y2K and so on). A bit less nonsense than magic mushrooms, at least.

When my time is up. My only Regret will be never seeing Queen Live! Freddie Mercury Will Always Be the BEST of the BEST! He had more Talent in his Little Finger than most! As a Front Man, WOW. Science is still studying His Vocal Range, Calling Him Unbelievable! I Love Queen. But my Heart Belongs to Freddie! RIP Freddie Mercury ❤❤

Unpopular opinion... i guess.. i love the band and their first songs alot. But the new stuff is so much better. It sounds so poetic and amazing where their younger songs sound like F boy music. Which isnt bad .. but just shallow. Their peotry is better

Love to see mention of TLSP because I love those 2 albums to death. I agree old Arctic monkeys vs new sound like two completely different things. It’s only a bad thing if people expect artists to do the same thing for the rest of their lives. Personally, I enjoy both equally, not because they’re the arctic monkeys, but because the music is GREAT.
