I remember when I was 5, the Step By Step album came out. Coming up in Harlem, it was so funny to me back then to see so many little black girls (including one or two of my own cousins) go so gaga for these guys. When I finally took a listen to their music, I actually liked them. I got clowned on by the guys and my older guy cousins, but I didn't care. Just cuz I dig acts like Bell Biv Devoe, don't mean I can't appreciate an act like the NKOTB. Good old days.

I can't believe this time capsule of NKOTB! I was working at the time for an HDTV Video Company renting the Ed Sullivan Theater back in the late 80's early 90's. The Owner would also rent out the Theater space for MTV Unplug Filming like Crosby Stills & Nash, Aerosmith, Ratt, Vixen to name a few~being also filmed in High Definition to promote the technology we have today, interesting to say the least. That One year, can't remember but it was either late 80's or early 90's, we rented to the UCP Telethon. That was a very endearing moment of what it might of felt like when the Beatles played at the Ed Sullivan Theater when the NKOTB Played. Here's my remembrance that day. Being part of the Production Team I was asked to be on the ground floor, of the Ed Sullivan Theater, for seating only UCP Families & any Celebrities. I only had one security guard on the ground floor and he was near the stage as the New Kids on The Block came on to perform. I flipped the curtain to see them initially get on the stage. Yet I heard a banter of steps down the stair case beyond the curtain along with screams excitement from the NKOTB Fans. Seems several Fan Girls thought they would storm the stage. I knew we where "Filming a Live UCP Telethon" but I quickly yelled to the security guard his name and motioned him to come to me! Luckily we stopped these Fans from storming the NKOTB live performance quickly. Yet it made me think~geesh can you imagine when the Beatles performed at the Ed Sullivan Theater many yrs back. That energy of endearing fans was ten fold in intensity. For me I was blessed to experience the Ed Sullivan Theater back in the late 80/90's. Yet felt also a gem of past time remembrance when many Legion Musicians, Actors, Poets ect graced the stage. The energy surely lingered forth and just blessed to experience. ;)

Yeah, makes him so much more interesting. Harley and he are so lucky to have found each other. Funny how they met. It could have easily gone the other way and they would never have known each other.
