Ironically, I have the same intake on a 350 (that performer RPM) that has been a constant hassle to get it to not leak right there at the water neck where you said yours leaked. Pretty nice little Chevy II though.

Speedway motors has 1/2 thickness nuts for spindles on mustang 2 susp.that allows you to put a cotter pin in spindle.

I'm surprised you had that piece of trim. That piece is usually long gone on a special coupe. That worked out good for you!

@@lifeofclassics7846 Well, that's crazy! I have two special coupes, and both cars are missing! That trim was originally a two piece setup from what I understand. I've never seen one in person since both mine are missing, but one piece screws onto the car, then the other snaps over the top of it to hide the screws. Anyway, It looks like you have things going your way, thanks for sharing!

Thats cool,lot of work,what we do is get squar tubeing,cut the bottom out then weld in angled gussets on the top to get the factory shape,its strong,looks the part and is less work
