You mention something about the spine? If you have trouble with spine? I had ACDF it was suppose to help and didn't do anything but make it worse. A lot of problems. Four years later finally a good hand doctor says I have cubital/carpal, but I also have a shoulder impingement. What questions should I be asking my doctor, before surgery?

At 72 my carpal 7:14 tunnel was killing me. Was a meat cutter for 20 years. Don’t know why I put surgery off for so long. Had it done two weeks ago. Wow it feels 7:14 better than it has for years.

I had the nerve conduction study and it wasn’t that bad. I’ve had much much worse things done to me by doctors. They mostly use pads. Just one needle at the very end just to confirm the muscle problem. Don’t psych yourself out thinking you’re going to be electrocuted like that lady said. That was very overly dramatic.

Thank you so much Dr. I'm having same problem with Ulnar nerve and it is Trapped in the elbow. EMG and MRI confirmed this and I'm waiting final decision from plastic surgery. I have hand weakness. Lost abductor muscle and all other symptoms. Only sensory is quite ok. Can I restore the wasted muscles after operation and is it very difficult operation for plastic surgery dr?

Thank you for sharing😇 I’m just starting to experience this pain, most definitely in the elbow& up the arm.. I hang my arm off the side off my bed laying on my back with the elbow sitting on the edge & I roll it side to side gives me great relief. I’m in construction & it feels like it’s getting worse & crawling up the bottom of my upper arm

I just had the EMG test and it was NOT fun, it showed the Ulnar nerve signal as slow, I have pain in the elbow, and my hand keeps going numb, starts at the palm, then goes to ring finger, then middle finger, then whole hand goes numb, I've tried braces, they no longer work, I get woken out of a dead sleep EVERY night by my left hand going totally numb, it goes away once I straighten my arm, but who can sleep with a straight arm? I've also started dropping things, to the point of I refuse to hold any glass items anymore, I'm scared to pick anything that's glass up for fear of dropping it, I'm a type 2 diabetic that's very well managed, so this scares me that my hand keeps going numb....I have a appt with a neurologist on the 14th of this month....Dr is a tad bit uptight, hopefully he will fix it surgically BEFORE I lost any more strength in my left hand, I'm already getting the palm muscle getting smaller and I don't like that one bit

also whoever is filming this is FIRED!! I wanted to see the entire slide of when the Dr was talking about the Cubital Tunnel syndrome, but whoever was filming kept it on the dr instead of also showing the slides when he was talking about it...very nice video...was informative, but the person filming did a crappy job sorry to say

Notice our surgeon friend never says why cubital tunnel syndrome occurs! "Arthritis can cause it, but for most people, ya know, just things happen and you get it" BULLSHIT There is a reason why your ulnar nerve is subluxating over the medial epicondyle! It is usually because your forearm flexor muscles are stronger than the extensors or your elbow is misaligned because the lateral head of your triceps is too weak. It may even just be inflammation

Hello Austin, I have had cubital tunnel for the past couple of years and I don't know if I have bad or mild pressure/syndrome, because I don't have any numbness but do have a sharp shooting pain when I do certain movements...I believe dysfunction of the shoulder is some way to blame but I find it interesting that you mention the triceps. So will tricep work potentially help in alleviating my symptoms...?
@austinkunch710
@austinkunch710 2 жыл бұрын
@@carlthompson9081 Hi Carl, I hope this finds you well, sorry its 3 years late. Seeing multiple DPTs(doctors of physical therapy) who are good at working with these syndromes of the brachial plexus nerves (many will claim to be when they arent, hence "multiple") should be the first and only part of the treatment plan. No physiatrists, not orthopedics, no MDs or DOs. DPTs only. Special attention should be paid to the pec minor vs serratus anterior, the forearm flexors vs extensors, the medial head of the triceps and supinators and pronators of the forearm, and the vertebral column and surrounding musculature of the brachial plexus nerve roots. With my meager experience, the pec minor is typically compressing the nerve bundle onto the ribcage too much, this being the main restriction/culprit. Fixing this often alleviates all symptoms

Niranjan Kumar yes you absolutely can! Do NOT look into surgery. First off i would check out Flextend Restore. Watch "Urehab cubital tunnel" videos on youtube. Also, make sure your nerve, elbow, and forearm and tricep are not inflamed

@@blessall8856 Here is my expansion: First notes: My apologies about the diet claim; I wrote this comment 4 years ago when I was a bit less evidence-based. The main problem is almost all of these cases is muscular imbalance or less commonly other musculoskeletal issue. Real expansion: for anyone with cubital tunnel syndrome, it is imperative to use surgery only after analyzing, diagnosing, and successfully treating any muscular imbalances that could be restricting the nerve (successfully meaning real significant improvements in mobility, stability, or other manual testing measure, but usually mobility). The common course of treatment given by MDs (reduce inflammation with Nsaids, cortisone injection, other glucocorticoids, then surgery) is a terribly unsuccessful plan, and really fails to address any of the potential underlying causes. Surgery for this has a very long recovery time and leaves the patient with poor lifelong side effects and outcomes (usually minor, though) and usually does not fix the problem that underlies th syndrome. DPTs only. @@austinkunch710 please explain the pec minor compressing on the rib cage. I’ve been trying to fix my ulnar nerve compression on my left elbow for about a year now. Mri said no cubital tunnel damage and I have pain in my inner brachial area. I do have less external rotation mobility and definitely muscle imbalances as my left side is my weaker side. Stretching and strengthening as been helping a lot but still not 100% yet.

Hi, I have something a little off the wall for you...I'm trying to figure out if this image (www.nasa.gov/multimedia/imagegallery/image_feature_1323.html) with the ring finger and the little finger bent in, is it more likely from damage to the Ulnar nerve or the Median nerve? You can see where the pulsar would represent a nail wound. I seem to be finding the "sing of benediction" as a symptom of damage to either nerve. How would you distinguish if it is Ulnar nerve damage or Median nerve damage, if you had someone come into your office with a great big nail in their wrist bones?
