#3 Ditto. I fully support everyone's 2A right to buy and carry a scarry looking gun, but I am a "discretion is the better part of valor" guy!

If I had to pick only two, it would be my Ruger P95 (9mm) and my Ruger Blackhawk (6 Inch Single Action .357). Both are tanks and they allow me to be more flexible in the ammo department. Plus, the Blackhawk has been used by many hunters to put food on the table.

I've used the Weaver Classic Rimfire 2.5-7 x 28 mm with a duplex reticle on mine for years. I would recommend not buying anything past 10x power magnification as you are not going to be taking a shot past about 200 yds with a .22LR field rifle like that. A Leupold VX3 might make a good high end choice for you

Cut to a year later and the MecGar magazines (for a P226) are only $5 cheaper. I don't doubt their reliability as I know several people who have MecGar magazines (for various other guns) and have never had an issue with them. But with the prices, now, I'd just stick to OEM mags (never had an issue with mine). I have 3 of the OEM 15-rounders (came with the pistol), and 3 of the OEM 20-rounders.

Dad brought them back from Japan as he was an airline pilot from the 50's through the 80's with Braniff Int'l (remember them?) LOTS of rounds through that gun and lots of rabbits felt its sting, haha! It's in very good original condition and I've somehow resisted the urge to accessorize or modify it. It still wears the 4x Weaver scope added soon after I unwrapped it.

You want about 9 power and be able to focus down to 15 feet. Many of the 22 scopes are cheap and even Leupold has a fixed parallax, which is out of focus in places. Try to stick with 1" and my 39A is currently wearing a Burris scope. I cannot understand why people do not want a scope of their 39A, everyone that I have seen shoots terrible, but they think a inch and 3/4 at 50 yards is great. It is a much better gun than that.

Muddy River tactical makes a good holster for a decent price. That's what I use. Also Dawson Precision sights sent a drift punch with my new sights. I also bought a rear sight pusher from Amazon that works really well.
