The existing only firmware mods will not give you the same sensitivity since the RF to IF Noise Floor is 3dB higher in the existing HF and SW bands due to no image rejection and higher thermal noise hitting the mixer of the stock UV-K5 at HF and SW frequencies! Only way to get that sensitivity back is with external filters to block the image frequencies ( FM BC and Aircraft frequency band ) folding/falling into the receiver at HF and SW bands The mixer at HF in an stock UV-K5 gets hit with a 3dB higher noise floor masking the sensitivity of the receiver The new Si4732-A10 has built-in image rejection and lower LO phase noise so a only firmware mod will not fixed image noise degradation at HF and SW Rx reception The Si4732-A10 CEC module is far superior to any firmware only mod for HF and SW Sensitivity and better receiver image and spur rejection I know, not all of you are RF Design Radio Engineers, to understand the technical aspects of this, but trust me, the Si4732-A10 module is a real breakthrough for the modified UV-K5 radio’s

I don't have a direct perception of sensitivity suppression, but I've noticed severe intermodulation interference. So, I've prepared a low-pass filter (LPF). Here's the video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/np-Km5eoqeC5f4k.html

Which firmware are you using? As I wrote earlier, I need firmware for HF full band for KD8CEC. Note that you will also need to modify your hardware to use that firmware. Do not install that firmware on a UV-K5 without the necessary modifications.

It has been a long time since I shot this video, so I am not certain of my memory. However, I think I probably would have used a long wire antenna. That is what I usually use for HAM radio.

初めまして、見たかった動画です。 こちらの動画で似た結果でしたが多少バラつきがある様ですね。結果は4分辺りから kzfaq.info/get/bejne/o9iBl86UsNPRdqc.html FETのゲート電圧調整で特に不要な高周波数が多いバンドでは多少改善はできるはずです。 73s and thanks for the helpful video

Is there an LNA and Bluetooth and Hiz features working? Thanks for the video.

I have the ATS-25 AMP, which is advertised to as superior to the Max Decoder version. The AMP has LNA and Hi-Z/50 Ohm switching and has three light blue indicator LEDs on the left side. It's the first of the ATS-25 series to have external LED lights and is supplied with Harduino's 4.17 Air beta firmware. WiFi works seamlessly but Bluetooth is not implemented. I have no idea if the AMP's hardware lacks a BT module or the firmware doesn't support it yet.
@ominkan31295 ай бұрын
@StratmanII Thank you for the information. It sounds like you are happy with 25 amp. I think I bought to soon.
@StratmanII5 ай бұрын
@@ominkan3129 You're welcome. I don't think the ATS-25 AMP is much of an improvement over the Max Decoder. It is still plagued by the lack of adequate RF shielding and the annoying loud pops when the demodulation mode and bands are changed. The ATS-25's color LCD screen itself emits so much RF noise that even my Malahit DSP1 clone SDR placed a foot away from it _registers micro spurs_ on its FFT display. If the noise were limited internally it wouldn't be so bad but it seems that the ATS' brushed aluminum casing can't even contain the RFI. It's probably leaking into the BNC telescopic whip and radiating out. Apart from the physical blue LED indicators there's little to distinguish the AMP from the Max Decoder. The LNA does work like the one in the ATS-120, but it also amplifies noise. When switched to the Hi-Z mode for the whip antenna, my ATS-25 AMP seems to attenuate the signal, so I leave it on the 50-Ohm selection for maximum sensitivity. I do have a Megaloop MLA-30+ active antenna but I'm waiting to receive the BNC-to-SMA adapter which I've recently ordered. I bought the ATS-25 AMP out of curiosity and I think it has a long way to go before it can be called a refined, finished product. 😞 Features like Noise Reduction, Noise Blanker and EMI Reduction which are amazingly effective in the Malahit DSP1 architecture is absent from the ATS-25 series. It could be the Si4732-A10's DSP chip limitation but there are cool features like the scalable retro frequency dial, analogue style S-meter, station seek function, WiFi, etc that the Malahit DSP1 does not have. The only feature that I look forward to is the upgradability of the ATS-25 firmware. The ATS-25 AMP is a really cool toy, but the fact that the designers can't even iron out annoying bugs like the RF noise makes this receiver less enjoyable than I had hoped for. Suffice to say, I won't buy an ATS-25 receiver again if mine were lost or stolen. 📻😐
@ominkan31295 ай бұрын
@@StratmanII That was great to read and you have it very well figured out, all its shortcomings and its positive features. The Malahit surpasses it in many ways, especially with the spectrum meter and waterfall and as you say, the excellent noise reduction. The ATS 25 max decoder, I am glad has the ban scan function which is fun. The best part is the availability of such radios if you can't lay out the funds for the big names but still can listen to the HF bands. Thanks again for your comments and I wish you a very Happy New Year with a lot of radio fun.
@Tokyo1991.JL1AJE5 ай бұрын
Could be the touch screen scan is emitting RF noise. If there is a screen/button lock function you could try activating it to see if the noise emission stops.
