In Levinson medical microbiology it says that toxoplasma transmission occurs through transplacental not human to human So does it means that the transmission doesn't occurs through organ transplant sexual transmission etc?

why would cats eat rats knowing they are incredibly unhigienic and full of pathogens are they stupid

If I believe that you said a large number of oocysts are produced within a short period of time(mainly around two to three weeks on average), I really do believe that. A single infected prey(such as a rat or a mouse) can contain thousands of tissue cysts, each tissue cysts produces an average of a few dozen(between 8(in muscle cells)to 200(in liver or even cancer cells), mainly 128 on an average maximum number)Bradyozoites, and each mature bradiozoite can produce 8 to 32 merozoites(mainly 16 or 20). And the process repeats itself over and over again for around a week or two, depending on conditions. Once the parasites start to produce gametes, females will often form first and then the males. The males will release around 8 to 16 micro gametes, which each one will fertilize one female and then the fertilize female then becomes a oocyst. And if you have calculated all the reproductive cycles of bradyozoites to merozoites and merozoites becoming more merozoites repeatedly, A single infected prey can produce more than a billion oocysts during the entire life cycle of toxoplasmosis in an average definitive host(which are always cats). And an average cat only poops out hundreds of millions of oocysts per day on average. This can cause them to have diarrhea during the oocyst releasing process, but overtime the cats will eventually start to feel better again afterwards. Unless that same cat eats another infected rodent, and the symptoms can become even more severe.

T gondii can also invade phagocytes by being ingested by them, which can be bad news for the immune cells(including macrophages and neutrophils). But it is mainly good news if your immune cells that are not phagocytes, end up destroying infected immune cells before they can release them. The most clever infection spreading is a pathogen uses a non phagocytic cell to infect more cells. If Toxoplasma(as an example pathogen)infects a natural killer cell it can use the NK piercing ability to deliver more into more cells, including cancer cells. But unfortunately as well as healthy cells as well.

Even though toxoplasma is a four stage species of apicomplexian(or sporozoan) that needs cats and rodents to complete its life cycle. Toxoplasma Gondii is not the only parasite that does this, Many predatory definitive(or dependent) species can also have similar life cycles as toxoplasma gondii, such as having tachyozoites for infecting their prey, and tissue cysts by the tachyozoites transform into bradiozoites, which behave like oocysts, In some stomach acid tolerant species, the bradiozoite stages are skipped, in order for more offspring to be highly successful. They only transform into merozoites in their definitive host, and the merozoites then become gametes that produce oocysts to repeat the cycle again. Other similar parasites include: Neospora, this genus is known to infect dogs as definitive hosts. Cryptosporidium Ursa, this species is named after their definitive host which you may have guessed(from the constellations)is the bear that is the definitive host of these convergent parasites. And many more species yet to be discovered. And bears are the animals that have the most coccidian(and other apicomplexian) parasite species, of any known animal species. Ranging from cryptosporidium to T.gondii, and countless others(like those that behave like T.gondii but only sexually reproduce inside bear’s intestines). And T. Gondii is an invasive species.

Of all the forms of the toxoplasmosis parasite. Tachyozoites are the most numerous form of the parasites life cycle. And bradiozoites are like sporozoites, but are produced through asexual reproduction. This parasite seems less damaging to the intestinal cells(and the cells that they become cysts in). Only certain organ, muscle(and even cancer cells) can house tissue cysts. And it’s more concerning to me, about them damaging the immune system, than them infecting the brain. The immunodeficiency details are very similar to those of viruses(including HIV and measles). The most promising and nutritious host cells, can allow the parasites to explode in the hundreds(up to around 128, according to the exponential growth).

Importante falar que os oocistos precisam de 72 horas no ambiente para esporular, pois sem essa informação muitos gatos são abandonados. Outra informação importante é que o gato só se infecta uma vez na vida dele.

Why can’t we just nickname the oocysts after the genus name of the parasites that create them, For plasmodium the oocysts will be called P.O. cysts or plasmodia cyst, For toxoplasma gondii, it’s To(pronounced T O)cysts or toxocysts, And for cryptosporidium it C.O cysts or crypto cysts, And for babysia it Bocyst(the letters before cyst are pronounced as body Oder, but the letters actually refer to the parasite that makes them), I’m(Ryan VD) suggesting that, just because we will better classify which oocysts come from which sporozoan parasites(toxoplasmosis and cryptosporidium cysts can look similar to each other). The difference is that toxo cysts have sporocysts, while crypto cysts do not have sporocysts.

Each infected cell(depending on the size of the cell) can produce dozens or even hundreds (or possibly even thousands) of toxoplasma parasites, The larger(or more nutritious) the cell, the more parasites they can produce, In some other hosts such as birds(including birds of prey, which they mainly feed on mice or rats), the parasites will travel to and damage the wing muscles of the bird, in order for the birds to be easy prey to the cat, This is Another way for toxoplasma to get inside the cat, Which is okay(in my opinion) if the bird is a invasive species,(such as starlings and rock pigeons), But not okay if they can infect birds of prey,(they are more vulnerable, then other birds, since they can eat mice that are infected with toxoplasma)? And the parasites will even harm the birds flight muscles in mid flight, and this will cause the host to get injured or even die, from falling from a very high altitude? And the dying infected will then get scavenged by rodents and other animals and then passing the parasites to more rodent hosts(that will be eaten by cats). the only warm blooded animals that are immune to toxoplasma are vultures(due to their highly acidic stomachs). And this is another reason why toxoplasma is a very invasive parasite species. And this is also by far the most common eukaryotic human parasite on Earth.

Isn't Tachyzoites forms before the bradyzoites? correct me if im wrong, this video went ingesting sporozoite then bradyzoite then explained the tachyzoites. To me was so confusing. If anyone thought Bradyzoites comes firs that's wrong so please be aware, I think he little confused on this topics as well with definitive host.

Tachyzoite - multiply and migrates to organs, then it goes bradyzoites, then this bradyzoites will be a part of gamogony and also will forms another tachyzoite. double check on it!!

I know!! I was having trouble too. But remember it is a CYCLE, so it depends of the life stage that you start with. In this case, it started AND ended with bradyzoites. The cat eats the mouse with a TISSUE CYST that liberates BRADYZOITES into its intestine and they transform into MEROZOITES (the sexual cells), these merozoites form an IMMATURE OOCYST that are then eliminated with feces. Now the OOCYST has to MATURE through sporulation, forming SPOROZOITES. these mature cysts can be ingested with water or vegetables by the intermediate hosts and follow the next path: The SPOROZOITES become TACHYZOITES that invade tissues (neurons, muscle, etc.) and end up forming bradyzoites, AGAIN, inside a TISSUE CYST (like the one that was inside the mouse that the cat ate at the beginning, which is also the way humans get infected, only instead of a mouse it is a pig, AND it would be brazyzoites, not sporozoites, that transform into tachyzoites) and thus, the cycle starts again.
