you are too close to the match, pull back to around 15 to 20 cm away and the match will light almost instantly

hey redeyes, you want me to explain it in scientifically? Why can you see the laser when it is not pointed at you? You can see it because some of the light is bouncing off of dust in the air and reflecting toward you eyes, this means there is less light going towards your laser target. What does this mean? It means that as the laser goes on, it loses a certain amount of energy over any given distance. So if you increase the distance, you increase the energy loss.
