Geissele tubes have drainage holes in them which work well especially if you have too much oil on the system and are designed more for water and what not but I do believe that they’re buffer too would fit a little bit farther back behind the smooth surface. There’s about a good quarter inch before it starts after the threading could be wrong. My question is can you assemble a HK upper and put it on a fully built high-end lower is for M-16 cut will definitely be in spec. Just curious what are the differences needed to be done because of their or I’d rather just get a lower whether and then have it sent off to have it re-anodized and edging put in to there’s a company in Pennsylvania that does it very well. Do everything from the BRN to the MR. They just can’t change serial numbers that’s it for obvious purposes, but they can relocate stuff markings if you’re into doing a clown and having it which they blast off the old and redo it and it’s not an easy process it’s very time-consuming and it’s not gonna be cheap. It’s not cerakote they have a build for someone that looks just like the armies new same color the M110 SAS S the new A1 version that H K is doing opposed to knights armament They’re still running since 2007 I believe the SSAE trigger from geissele It looks like they have a proprietary rail, but it looks like geissele made it for them Because of the dog bone and what not just the way the rail system is but they run the flow on them. 762. They’re still loud work on anything like an MR 762 into a m110 A1 It just cost a little bit and think you have to just look. I forget the company it’s out of Pennsylvania, but it’s company that just does a lot of work with H and k shit they’ve even made their own a five where they drill into your lower to make it like an A5 for the bolt bolt open and bolt drop as they’re making shit ambidextrous so they have some amp dexterous parts. They can add into it if it’s not in a five and you want something close to an A5 variant they can do that.

When you say "assemble a HK upper" - are you assembling an HK416 upper or an MR556 upper? The MR556 upper receiver doesn't have the shelf cut so it won't clear the sear on an M16 lower, and also uses a semi-auto only BCG. You would need a full HK416-spec upper to work on an M16 lower. BRN-4 or a true HK416 upper would both work for that purpose.

The TDI Arms handguard is similar however the side picatinny rails are detachable whereas on the AK-9/AK-100 handguards the rails are molded in. To offer an alternative for the non-purists out there, A3 Tactical makes a 1913 folding triangle stock that, visually, looks like the original metal triangle. What's great about the A3T stock is that it comes in both aluminum and polymer; I have the latter which is both lighter and temperature neutral, i.e. it doesn't freeze or burn your face off. It also has a QD area at the hinge like the original so you can sling it across your chest with the stock folded. The folding mech that it comes with locked up tight when closed and held the stock firmly against the receiver when open, but was still easy to manipulate. I found that with the buttpad, the length of pull is just about perfect if you're using a more vertical grip like the Magpul K2 and a modern straight on stance. A3T also sells a QD sling socket, rubber buttpad and cheek riser, and a fixed stock adapter so its highly adaptable to whatever you want it for. Highly recommended if you want to keep that classic look to your 74 but don't want to have search and pay for original equipment should you want to modernize. One downside however, if you have a fixed stock, you will need to cut the stock tang off, or replace the folding mechanism on your side folder, with a 1913 adapter (I personally recommend JMAC).

If I remember the stories, the reason why there's an MR556 and an MR223 instead of one single version is because of Germany's export laws and US import laws, because of which HK cannot send German manufactured rifles (and some others) or something to the US. I think some people said the barrel of the MR556 was actually manufactured by Daniel Defense or something? Not sure. Either way, they're two completely different rifles which were branded almost similarly.
@Feldmutze7 күн бұрын
Yep, unfortunately due to laws on both sides that's why there's such a big difference between the two rifles. On the MR556, the barrels used to be imported as blanks from Germany, then finished here in the US by Daniel Defense. Since then I think HK USA has moved the barrel finishing in-house, or at the least, to a different contractor, as Daniel Defense isnt finishing them anymore.

I’d lean a lot more towards the VP9SK between it and a P365. Even though I don’t personally own one, I’ve shot the VP9 (not SK though) a lot and it’s an extremely safe & well designed handgun. I think the VP9SK is a better choice than the P2000 as it’s easier to modernize with optics-ready slides directly from HK, it has more picatinny slots so it can fit a wider ranger of lights, and the grip design is very comfortable. P2000 is hammer-fired though if that’s something you care about, you could go either direction on that.

Thanks for the cool video. You did not mention that the two boxes of steel cased ammo seemed to be intended for MG use. Is that important? Did the ammo for MGs differ in any meaningful way? EDIT: and what about the different colored primers, does that mean anything beyond differences in production?
@Feldmutze18 күн бұрын
Yes, boxes stamped "Für MG" contain loose ammo whereas boxes with "Für Gewehr" would have the ammo loaded on clips. There were a lot of changes to primer sealant color and material throughout production. The book "7.9x57 Mauser Ammunition for the Collection - Volume I: German WWII, by Geremy M. Chubbuck" has a section just on primers that I'd recommend checking out as it goes very in-depth on that. Otherwise, all the relevant primer information is on the box itself.
