Hiding behind that tree with the first fish you caught was genius!! Nice work. Also you were trained in dealing with angry beavers in IV so u should be good.

You get skunked A LOT! Do you want to know why...? It's because in your videos you are CONSTANTLY flyfishing downstream. Flyfishing is an upstream casting activity. The only flies that should be fished downstream are streamers. But, even with streamers you cast across and let it swing down in the current. If you arent casting upstream with dries, emergers and nymphs 90% of the time, you are doing it ALL WRONG. Get in and wade and cast UPSTREAM. Youre driving my 56 years of flyfishing experience absolutely crazy. While watching a couple of your videos, I verbally announced out loud that you wouldnt catch anything....and by the end of your video, I was right every time. WADE UPSTREAM FOR CASTING POSITIONS, UPSTREAM, DRIFT AND MEND, UPSTREAM, DRIFT AND MEND, UPSTREAM, DRIFT AND MEND. Try walking downstream FIRST. Then fish UPSTREAM to your camp. Fight the urge to fish downstream.

Thanks for the advice and thanks for watching, it's much appreciated. I do try fishing upstream whenever I can but often times find it difficult when the water is high and fast. Also alot of the creeks I fish are tiny and brush-choked so casting options are usually limited. Although I will say the only video where I was skunked was Buckeye Creek, which had no fish. But I know there is much room for improvement! Anyways, thanks again...

Great video, thanks. Been there many of times and never any fish? It's a real shame, since it is such a great area and easy access along most of the stream. I wonder if it gets washed out during the run off season?
@MO_Lives
@MO_Lives 5 күн бұрын
@@jasonsnyder2920 thank you and thx for watching! The campground host was telling me trout usually start showing up later in the summer (late July) from upstream. My theory is that the large boggy and polluted meadow upstream of the campground leeches lots of waste into the creek in the spring / early summer months, and later in the season it dries up a bit keeping the stream cleaner… just a theory though. But you’re right the lack of fish is a bit disappointing

Whenever I can, yes, I love the action of the 2 weight. I also have a 5.5' 2wt. that I'll resort to where it's real overgrown and constricted. I've seen euro nymphers on this particular section using super long rods though, even before the storm cleared it all out, but my 9 ft is a 5 weight which is too much for my liking on that stream.
