In my experience a machinist jack needs a fine thread or better a differential thread to adjust accurately. Using a tap and die leaves you with a sloppy fit. I enjoyed watching but I suggest you cut both threads on your lathe. If you're not accustomed to this I understand your approach but if you start doing it you'll never go back. You can make any thread you like and make a tight accurate fit too. Fun to learn, fun to do. If you're insecure; attach a handle to your spindle end and turn the lathe by hand and avoid collisions at the end of the thread with broken tools and parts as a result. Good luck, its doable, I learned it too, all the best, Job

Hello. Can you please help me make a machine for quick and easier disassembly of radiators from an air conditioner. There are copper tubes in aluminum foil. So far the easiest way is with a stationery knife... But when there are a lot of them it is also very difficult. I want to come up with some kind of machine.

I owned the $100 Can TNT Tooling WSA hand wire stripper, very similar to this. (My stupid sister threw it away "cleaning" & irreplaceable because TNT Tooling out of business). Overall a very good tool. It made mistake of being a pocket tool designed for a vice, but vices are not portable. I suggest: a) drilling holes in corners & supplying L-brackets & fasteners to bolt to end of picnic bench. b) repeat the same size holes, so that perfect adjustments. can be kept for longer or permanently. c) thin clear plastic layer on house wire broke & bunched up in holes & kinks slamed into back & needed straightening. I guess entry should be beveled or tapered so less friction.

I get and see what the go is where stripping wire is concerned but im lost where the stanley blades sit in the tool and how they cut the plastic sheathing ? So do you have to adjust the blades every time you need to strip a different thickness of wire or does it do all of them ?? If Anyone can fill me in that would be great. @@plumberlife thanks for the info... I have a couple of old steel brake line flairing tools here so do you think they would be ok to use as they all different sizes flaring holes in them and I could probably drill some holes in the tools and the blades to keep them in place the same as the wood.
