Let the American people know. Jose Antonio Vargas had the chance of becoming a legal immigrant and eventual citizen through then President Clinton's Immigration Act 245i in late 2000 to early 2001. Mr. Vargas was already an adult then. He did NOT grab his golden opportunity. Instead he chose to be good at his intended career. I also came here as a tourist but I gladly accepted President Clinton's offer of legalize illegal immigrants. I looked for an employer couple who was willing to sponsor and I worked as a caregiver or nurse aide in their nursing homes. They did the legal thing of proving to the American government that no US citizen wants my job which became the basis of my petition. I accepted the humble but decent job despite my two degrees and years of graduate school in the Philippines working long hours shifts because I wanted to legalize my stay in the US. I eventually got my work permit and permanent residency after years of waiting. BTW I could not change employers nor leave the US because I was not yet a green card holder. When I became a legal immigrant, I studied in a university here in the US, became an American citizen and now I am doing the job that I want. Oh come on, Jose Antonio Vargas. You should be an American citizen by now but you ignored America's gift of legalizing your status to become a US citizen.

Well now we know why the US is the way it is. Mr. Vargas makes a mockery out of the US Immigration System and the charity that's right charity of the American people by selling his viewers - anyone who he can get a (paid and or influencer audience with) his Identity Politics laughing at the ICE/INS all the way to the bank, and the fact that he "made it in America" by being an illegal. BTW why is his vision of America important for our growth as descended Americans? I guess anyone who ticks the right boxes, and can get sheep looking for a reason to "like Immigration and "understand totally" the plight of migrants and editors with little imagination to get a platform to sell subscriptions/books. BTW the folks he should be writing to with his book deals, can't read write or speak English. This person has admitted he lied about his "American Status" and wants to tell us "his vision for America" is he "too big" to be, deported? Unbelievable! Give this person an Oscar not a book deal 'No amount of "storytelling" by a financially successful admittedly undocumented, outwardly gay promoting, Filipino is going to change the majority of the US attitude about Immigration Politics/Policy while shoving his and others increasingly whiny Identity Gender Politics - and wants down our throats. And a second book deal about this? If he wanted to contribute to the world why not return to Manilla? no doubt some poverty stricken kids will look up to him there (but he would never go back to his "beloved homeland" he's an "American" ). BTW what has his being a gay man have to do with his succeeding financially and or getting great gigs while being unlawfully in this country? Again the "I'm gay and, I'm illegal deal with it, and I want YOU to know how, I see America" Storytelling by and for, "others". Now let's see an openly straight, Black man from Chicago's south side get the same publicity as his parents put him on a flight to the Hamptons for a better life? Is Vargas telling us that is how many Filipinos sneak into America ( and remain undocumented) as smiling children on someones arm via US Airports? Thanks, please share with US Immigration! When this guy videotaped folks in discussions on being "White" I got the impression after the camera was turned off it was business as usual (for the phenotypic White people and for him too) nothing revelatory in that documentary. Think about it, because the US economy has so many levels the US Govt will never be able to find out who is really here legally and who is not especially with "established" immigrant populations.. If one fact checks some of our most visible influencers one of more of their relatives are illegals and or got here on false pretenses. Is Vargus saying "Hey all you Filipinos if you are illegal no worries you can make it here too just find a niche come out of the closet be a brand a news outlets or publisher can sell to another audience of suckers who think Political Correctness is cool and or "polite" and you could be the next "me!"? I hope not. And why when he publicly admitted in that he was undocumented didn't the authorities arrest him and deport him if nothing else as an example? I guess he was too "celebrated" but these same people would berate me for being harsh and "racist" for calling out the obvious (even though I have not said anything that is misleading) and say they "love him" in the same breath but don't really want ( and would take every measure to prevent) a thousand Filipinos - or any Filipinos "like him" living in their old growth neighborhoods or playing golf at their "not really" restricted country clubs or having, persons like him be admitted to an Ivy over, their kids. Now that's America!

Here because of wanting to bask in Disney's failure of spending 100s of millions on destroying valid, profitable companies non-stop, Maker being one of the earliest failures of theirs. Back around 2013, J. Michael Straczynski [JMS] -- creator of the science fiction TV show *BABYLON 5* -- posted a comment online saying how most television network executives {and I suspect movie executives as well} just do not GET science fiction. I think Mr. Straczynski was absolutely correct, and what Mr. Trumbull said in this video supports that.

0:50 Since different minds may associate other sets of perceptions with the same words, it is unknowable what another person perceives. You can not translate one private language into another one, so if we talk about our perceptions in public language it has nothing to do with our private perceptions. So it is unknowable if we have the same perceptions or not, and because of this it is impossible to refute naive realism by comparing perceptions.

There is a big problem that I have with pop neuroscience of perception. -It wants to replace the objective with the intersubjective ignoring the fact that other people are part of the external world themselves. -If understand of the external world is not possible then consensus is also impossible, how would you know that they agree with you or that other people are not themselves just hallucinations? -I do not posses a privilege access to other people which I do not posses for ordinary objects. It follows that if I don’t have understanding of external objects then I also do not have understanding of external people.

His Showscan came along when theaters were downsizing and bring in the 12 small Theaters in malls that were cheap to make and more money to make . His vision was to bring in new projectors and a curved screen but owners rejected the idea to them since showscan was a risky deal so he pulled out of the movie business to make rides for amusement parks .RIP and condolence to his family.

That people donate is lovely. But the idea that this is the "future" of storytelling again excludes so many.Speaking of 19th Freytag or Freitag without mentioning what a shit he was, hated Poles and Jews, is, talk about, an incomplete story. And he is a rehash of Aristotle who took Horace from 3 part to 5 part story. And the source of this story structure is one meant for catharsis. The viewer/listener feels better, and can then ignore suffering. Yep, it makes people donate, and that's good, we need to know that! But it is not a structure that either helps make inclusion into work for radical change, nor a story structure that is applicable for so many people. That rise and fall of tension, that structure really based in male ejaculation, if you ask me, does not make for story structure that applies, IMHO, to people, neighborhoods, groups, nations, individuals in tough and traumatic circumstances--where there is not a rise and fall of tension. What of those born into terrible pressures, tensions? What of those whose circumstances make it so there is constant tension? Shall we not tell those stories because again it is suggested that this 5 part up down is the universal story structure? It's great for movies when I need to rest, need to know it will be ok. It does not reflect not only the lives of so many, but on a planet existentially challenged, I believe we need to understand other ways of writing stories that hold this sense of constant and perhaps increasing tension. Many groups obviously already know that state of being. I guess it infuriates me a bit, not that this form is still used, but that it is put forward as universal, when it might be said to be exclusionary, obscuring, and clearly not applicable to many people's stories. Look at a map of people's blood pressures. You'll see where there is dangerously high blood pressure. It is not where the tension in people's stories rise and fall, but continue. For instance: "Exposure to trauma, including childhood abuse (Riley et al., 2010) and combat (Granadoet al., 2009), has been associated with increased hypertension risk." "Current research on health disparities and high blood pressure: African American and Hispanic adults in the United States have a higher prevalence of high blood pressure than other racial and ethnic groups." This approach to story as universal is more than incorrect. It's harmful, and supports some of the worst exclusions from the world of story and how to tell it, shape it. It's why, as a writer and teacher of creative writer, story whether fiction or memoir, I work with organic forms--helping writers develop the structure that fits their story. It's brilliantly diverse....
