While the author in the reading passage demonstrates three major disadvantages, the lecturer is on the other hand. He challenges the author’s claim. First and foremost, the writer begins by stating that to get to the minerals at the bottom of the seas, they have to dig deep. Because they do not know exactly where the resources are located. Therefore, this action can negatively impact sea life. However, the lecturer is doubtful that it is accurate. He argues that they only take a small percentage number of samples. It is only disrupted an extremely small number of marine life such as plankton. As a result, it is unnoticeable and the region can not be affected. Secondly, the author also believes that exploring the ocean floor can raise a lot of sand and dust from the bottom. This can lead to water pollution and the animals that are inhabiting can be in danger. Again, the lecturer is on the other side of this debate. He mentions that this circumstance is profoundly limited. They will not take action where marines life present. Besides, they solely meet the current future needs and can minimize the negative influence on the ocean. Lastly, the writer feels that the same destruction will occur with aquamarine agriculture. For instance, salmon and tuna will be restricted to a small space so they could be fed, grown, and then harvested. The surrounding environment might be severely impacted and the quality of the fish is being hindered. Nevertheless, the lecturer thinks there are flaws in this argument. If they raise the demand for supplies, it can tackle the issue and solve the problem. Furthermore, this progress only takes place in the desert, where the area is restricted. Therefore, the problem can not affect the quality of the fish.
