I keep the banana in water overnight (about 12 hours). After the first application, I soak it for another 12 hours and use it one more time.

I have one carrot in my garden. From watching Dr. Obi the carrot has almost got to seed. I literally started with the top of a carrot (that I ate) and it is now about a 30cm plant. I'm really hoping it makes seeds. The flowers are there.
@dr_obisgarden
@dr_obisgarden 5 сағат бұрын
That's good to know. Once the flowers have appeared, they are very likely to form seeds since carrots can be both cross and self pollinated. Best wishes.

You put it in water right after taking it off the fruit 100 percent guaranteed to rot in the water let the bottom of the stock dry before planting is the best way don’t water often because they hate wet feet just water when the top of soil is dry poor the water right in the center I have grown hundreds of pineapples
@dr_obisgarden
@dr_obisgarden Күн бұрын
I agree that letting the bottom dry before putting it in water is the best. I recommend that too. However, if you actually cut off all remaining fruit from the bottom you can still put it in water right away and it will not rot unless of course the crown was already infected. This is from experience.

Hmm. That could be a sign of infection. Try and see if you can separate the shoots. If you can, move it into the soil to continue growing. This is not a guarantee, but sometimes it helps. Best wishes.

What time of the year can i plant lettuce in Nigeria in bags
@dr_obisgarden
@dr_obisgarden Күн бұрын
I'm currently based in Ghana so I can't give you a specific month. However, lettuce prefers cool weather so you can plant it during months when the weather is cool. Hot weather makes the leaf bitter to taste.

So do you get 4 or 8 plants from a single crown?
@dr_obisgarden
@dr_obisgarden Күн бұрын
It depends on the crown. If it is big you can cut it into eight sections. Even with four sections, if you harvest the plantlets after 3 months and continue to take care of the sections, you can get more than four plants.

Can we apply to newly planted pineapple?
@dr_obisgarden
@dr_obisgarden 7 күн бұрын
It most likely will not work. The pineapple should have grown big enough to be able to sustain the growth of the fruit. Smaller plants will produce smaller fruits.

Thanks for your videos . Ive been following your methods for a while now but ive not been successful yet in growing an onion . Whenever i separate the shoots to plant them, they die after a few days
@dr_obisgarden
@dr_obisgarden 8 күн бұрын
@simonjoebaidoo4369 that's interesting. I can think of a few possible causes. 1. Your soil is infested with pathogens that cause onion diseases 2. You're overwatering the plants 3. You're not giving the plants enough water 4. You're planting the shoots too deep. If #1 is the cause, you should consider sterilizing the soil.

I guess it didn't come out well. Leaving it out for a couple of days should be okay and allows it cure. What is not good is leaving it on the counter for a long time when you're not ready to plant. In that case it's better to let it root in water whilst waiting.
