"Setup 1900 so we don’t blow through it"!! In the real world, we would set the clearance limit of 2000 and "not blow through it"! Are you not able to capture an altitude accurately? Then 2900 instead of 3000? But descent to 2600 …. what did you set for that? You armed the APPR before you were cleared for it. Speed and Heading are the two most often confused clearances. You must read back "190 'Heading' …. " . And please stop saying "um" with ATC! May I suggest if you are going to be a KZfaqr involving aviation that you have a responsibility to always set an impeccable standard for all the youth and new pilots who are watching.

@bushboy3943 I am sorry you didn't like it. I have yet to meet someone who does everything perfectly and I am always striving to do better. Would love to take a flight or some dual from you to brush up on my skills. As for the altitudes, if you get a NOT ABOVE clearance you can fly it at whatever altitude you want, I opted for 190 because the person I was flying with tends to overshoot things occasionally and we were flying under Toronto's C (equivalent to US B) airspace. Finally, if we are going to talk about aviation youtubers, I would suggest you look elsewhere for someone to criticize. I will always show and admit my mistakes unlike those who edit them out of the videos.

No it is not, that's one of the reasons the SR22 outsold the TTx even though the TTx is likely a better plane. It's definitely faster and had far better avionics

Love the Cessna TTx! It's one of my favorite GA aircraft. I personally prefer it over the Cirrus SR22T, even though the Cirrus has the parachute. I will admit that the new G7 has some really nice new avionics (but a really nice price tag to go with them!). Granted, I'm not a real pilot, and have never flown in any of them in real life. All of my flying is only in MSFS 2020. (I do have a full-size sim hardware panel with a G1000 PFD / MFD / Audio panel, yoke, throttle, switch panel, and standby gauges, so I do get to enjoy a fairly realistic experience) I have flown out of Billy Bishop in the sim many times, and enjoy the scenery along the Toronto shoreline. Thanks for the virtual ride along in your plane. I enjoyed the flight very much!

It would be great to see these planes return with a Continental TDI powerplant.

This is the best with having your own plane. Find a "good" IFR day and do one approach after another. Especially if you can go from VFR to a marine layer that's 0/0. Fly the approach to minimums and do the missed in actual. Commercial can't even attempt it and most instructors won't go either.

love ifr videos -- one note , and is that on the last approach you cancelled IFR once you had the runway made .. and shortly after that the GPS announced 500. -- so you broke out and made the airport some place above 500 and probably below 1000 AGL. in that circumstance I would not cancel IFR.. i'd keep the clearance, just in case for some reason you have to go around. -- with the deck being below pattern altitude you're going to have a shitty time flying a go around if youare VFR .. which you are now that you cancelled your clearance. keep the clearance until you are on the ground if the deck is at or below pattern imo. Iknow this video is 2 yrs old .. but there are some folks who are working on their IFR that might read these comments and might benefit.
@bdanza
@bdanza 9 ай бұрын
That's a great point, I had not thought about it. I think that it's probably just hard-wired behavior from flying into my home airport. but not canceling until you have a traffic pattern made is a great idea.

Oshkosh is more a visual thing. You don't need to do much talking. You did a great job with your narration. I was surprised you were not in the Cirrus for this adventure. I took a Cessna 172 there, from KTEB to KYNG to KFLD for my first flight to Air Venture. Because it took so long to get out there, KOSH was closed for the night. It worked out ok since there were volunteers from the area, bringing everybody to town. Wisconsin people are the best people. They will give you the shirt off their back if you need it.
