So here’s some ideas as I see these Planes like Alara but they only lost a single mana. So they are slowly coming back together, but since it’s not a Nicol Bolas figure doing this, it has a less extremity to its urgency for balance. But what provokes each world is something that has or currently happens during the story. Like in Dracorium, there were actually 5 dragons, but once the world began to divide the white mana dragon was lost to let’s say what is now Luminesca. In Aerocelis, the change that the Autumn Accordance is predicting is the reformation of the planes into one big plane again. As for Luminesca, a person is picked to be the new keeper of knowledge, and their knowledge of the secrets kept from the people, allows them to eventually connect them to a “resistance group” in the plane to expose the brainwashing of the other keepers, or maybe their just a student who accidentally stumbled upon the forbidden knowledge it still goes that route. In Mythoria, a young worker, has a run in with a kind person only to learn they are part of the Collective, which makes them start to rethink how the world as they knew it has been progressing. And in Aether Prime, maybe one of the stone kins, stumble upon a cave that talks about another stone kin, that of green, and it is not here. Causing it to go back to the others of its tribe, to tell of this news. Then as the worlds merge, our hero(es) of Dracorium defeats the main villain with the help of the returned White mana Dragon, the hero(es) of Aerocelis discover what the Accordance have found out, the hero(es) of Luminesca ultimately uproot the oppression of the world just as black mana seeps into the plane, in Mythoria the hero(es) here too remove their oppressive regime and with the few help of the uprising group from Luminesca try to solidify some compassion and reveal the truth of the first trial which was discovered to be the decision of no one to be emotional anymore, and Aethex Prime run into their lost fellow stone kin which was in Aerocelis the whole time. What do y’all think?

This video makes me sad. It reminds one how deep and vast and thoughtful and creative MTG lore used to be before WotC changed their process to: "Which type of hat do we put on the characters before we let the random word generator create the 'stories'."

Naya is Spinoza. Nature isn't different than god. It's just one aspect of it. Aspect, that we interpret by our only ways disponible. We "determined", we have to keep that in mind if we want to be free. Just Naya, with Spinoza with druid look.

Feel like sharing here real quick, but let me first say how amazing this channel is. I love philosophical debates about Magic, any debates about Magic, and I love this channel so much. Keep doing amazing work like this! I started out as a Mono-Green player, before I had began to dive into the lore of the game and the story. I have always found it so awesome that a dinosaur or beast or whatever is just big enough that it gets to stomp over everything with trample! I later tried out red and white, and found both of those to be very fun and unique. At this point, I've played every combination hundreds of times and I've never really liked black or blue's play style or ideals, with the exception of Orzhov, Izzet, Jund, and Temur because they have my favorite colors. Grixis was shockingly fun, it has my least favorite colors but the freedom and self-expression in red makes it fun for me. In short, I have ALWAYS adored Naya.

I see black and white as two sides of the same coin that is Society. Ambition is required to get anything done, and Order is required to make sure that ambitions don’t destroy each other (or themselves).

Definitley one of the most interesting channels on the platform, I've followed your videos for many years. Dissapointed by the use of generative AI, when you are given the opportunity to share so much fantastic fantasy art created by humans. I hope you stray away from using as not only is it visually unpleasent, it stems from uncredited theft of other artists.

Dont sleep on Blue as a paladin... all you need to do is look at the guilds and shards. Blue is logical and based in control. Im looking at You, Azorius. You are not a mere champion, you are order, you are the one that brings these ambitious mages and rogues to heel. Whether it be somthing like the Oath of Crown, or Oath of Watchers. You protect your party by denying your oponent the ability to do harm, rather that simply step in front of your allies. You banish fell beasts, curse your foes abilities, even counterspell the wizard outright. Both magic, and society have laws. You are their enforcer. Bant takes a similar vein, but adds in a bit more temperance and practicality with Green as discussed in the WG section

Whenever I see white black, I think Vampires, Milling, Death&Taxes, stealing life from opponents. Terrifying combo to go up against when you're playing Red/Blue because unlike other combinations, you can't do anything much against it, it isn't a draw war like with Green or Green/combo or who drops their combo first with Red, it is they just got out their enchantments, I got nothing to deal with it, unless I can get my combo out as fast as possible, I will lose as my opponent is now 32 life and I am at 9 by turn 3.

The only color, I believe that could complete the Color Pie absolutely would be Grey. Nothingness through Nihilism. Nothing exist. Therefore there is nothing you must or should do. No expectations, no resposibility. I believe it would propagate complacency, centrism, contentment and relief. It would create a world in which everyone realises that reality cannot be known, but that No one can tell you otherwise. It would probably have mechanics of stasis and nullification. Maybe the Eldrazi represent this literal non-color.

All in all, while ofc there is an "official" focus colour, I do believe that focusing on either one of the three, changes the reasons behind actions. Why are you like that? What do you deeply desire? It's not just "ambition", it's "ambition for something". It's never just cruelty for cruelty's sake, and it's infantile to evaluate anything as "cruel" out of context. We do things for freedom, sense of self, spirituality and meaning (reasons behind these as well), or whatever. Cruelty and hunger for power or control have motivations. Focus colours provide these and simply saying "ok, black raises the dead and wotc says is grixis focus, ergo, BADDIZ" is kinda boring. (Not saying my man here said that; it's just the most common approach against mindsets such as this)

Whats interesting is that Wizards has released several Bards without red. In particular, we've seen Simic Bards and Abzan Bards in offical MTG cards. Thing is, while red might be the most passionate color, it dosen't have a monopoly on being passionate, and other Bards who lack red can be just as passionate a performer as any red-based Bard. The difference, I feel would be that for a red-based Bard, the act of performance and self-expression itself is what they are passionate about. Self-expression itself lights them up. While a Bard who lacked red entirely, I feel, would be motivated by passion for something other than self-expression and performance itself, and thus would use performance as a means to the ends of being able to do, obtain, or achieve what they actually are passionate about. That being said, if red isn't there, I kind of think green typically WILL be there, since all the official Bard type creatures who lack red do have green. Regardless, to illustrate my points on how a Bard doesn't need Red, I'll the official examples of non-red Bard color identities from the actual card game..... I could see an Abzan Bard somebody who is passionate about upholding the traditions and culture of their society and nation. They would be a diehard loyalist of the state, a true patriot who knows the history of their culture well and sees it as the best culture there is. They'd thus focus on using entertainment and performance as a means to perpetuate the continuation of their culture, essentially being a state propagandist for their culture or nation who creates the entertainment that keeps the masses loyal to the state and also helps preserve the history and culture of that state. The black here could manifest in one of two ways I feel. It could either come in the form of the Bard having a desire to help their nation or culture be the most prominent superpower of the world, no matter how many other nations or cultures they might have to crush under their imperialistic boot-heel. Or instead could come in the form of the Bard being from a privileged social class within the hierarchy of their culture or nation and being so loyal and passionate about their culture/nation and its traditions because they actively benefit from those things at the expense of the common people they feed their propaganda entertainment. The Simic Bard, meanwhile, I feel is somebody with a thirst for knowledge of history and the past. Somebody who is just as passionate as any red-based Bard, but rather than their passion being for the act of self-expression itself like a Red bard, it is instead for the collection of historical knowledge. Simply put, the Simic Bard is the theater kid who goes off to be a history major instead of a theater major. This Bard is less interested in expressing themselves through performance, and more interested in collecting and preserving the traditions, histories, and culture of the world they live in, and just happen to choose to do so through performance. They have an unquenchable thirst for the lore of the past, and a dedication to meticulously preserving it, and learning from it. They might even have a desire to perfect the world itself by applying the lessons of history to it, and seek to teach those historical lessons to people who might one day become leaders in positions where they can use them to make the world run more efficiently and smoothly. Performance and entertainment, after all, can reach, and thus educate, far more people than dusty tomes and stuffy classrooms, so if their goal is to teach the lessons of the past to as many people as possible in the name of perfecting the world through the application of those lessons, then entertainment and performance are great ways to do that. And, whats more interesting, is that I think Sultai could VERY easily work as Bard color combo as well, as it would essentially add a selfish element to the Simic Bard discussed above that could go a number of ways. If I ever play a Bard, I'll likely play them as Sultai as a result as that seems like an IMMENSLY fun Bard to play.

To be honest my interpretation of golgari is a tribe that has forgotten it's tradition and in pursuit of bringing it back they end up raising their ancestors to reteach the old ways and traditions and eventually everyone will forget again so they keep bringing their elders back for the future generations to remember the old

Just found the videos, and I’ve been tossing around a wizard character for D&D. She is a scribe but an astral drifter who, in her long travels, picked up the art of making her spells into cards. Originally hailing from Ravnica (because it’s my favorite setting), I thought she’d be an Izzet but couldn’t justify the artistic aspect with the cards. Now I’m considering this one. Was thinking blue red with a bit of white if that is a different slice I’d love to find that video. I would love some feedback as I’m attempting to lean into mtg lore for her.

as a philosopher who grew up playing mgt I find the mana system has greatly improved but the overall game mechanics have turned into pure mathmathic chaos removing the casual & fun element of playing. I find it a little sad that I am studying the crap out of the mana system but have no renewed interest in playing the game.

As someone with Autism and ADHD who has long sought to balance the two through self-discipline, this fits me to a TEE. I am constantly maintaining the balance between my impulsive, emotional side and my regimented, logical side, finding time and time again that too much in either direction is doomed to failure for one reason or another. Finding that balance, typically through things like meditation, contemplation, and inner exploration, has been the great challenge of my adult life, and Jeskai very strongly defines that ideal. Awesome video!
