I've always loved her, even I was only a year old when she died. My childhood came crashing for me when I found out That the studio started her on smoking and pills and yes even alcohol. The studio Mr. mayor used to call her his fatty and by him is why she didn't get off of the drugs. As you see, they did do this with male young boys, but look at the difference that the studios did with all the female actresses. Some of this still exists, but as bad. Male actors can be over 50 and still doing roles of adventure, where females at the same age of the men play mom roles and grandmas. Too much to disgusts, but if look they did the same to other actress as well. They only cared about the money not the young actors and definably women. So sad about her life. I hope she is at peace with God and the angels!

This was fantastic thanks for putting it together. Btw since I'm currently watching "The New Look" on Apple TV I think it's worth pointing out that the other person his estate was left to, Raymonde Zehnacker, was not just his friend but rather his right hand woman and creative director at Dior.

Hollywood is messed up. I wish movies were never invented. Power, money, its a very evil place. She was thrown into a role she never ment to play. I hate the movie industry. Im 57. Thx for the inside.

Her mother did NOT give Judy Garland pills or drugs. There is no evidence that ever happened. Judy may have said that; that's probably where that untruth came from. Judy Garland was a drug addict; drug addicts are not what you would call credible. She blamed everyone else for her troubles; her mother, Louis B. Mayer, MGM, Sid Luft. She made tapes to be used for an autobiography that never got completed. On the tapes she is obviously drunk or on drugs; she rants and raves about how badly she's been treated by everybody and then talks about "the stupid ones" who say she's a drug addict. "Well, it's a wonder I'm NOT!" Yes, she denied being a drug addict. In the very good book "The Making of the Wizard of Oz" the author said this of Judy Garland and it was true: "She lied a lot." Even her children admitted that. They said she never let the truth get in the way of a good story.

In a video about Judy Garland, why do you start out @ :36 by showing someone merely pretending to be Garland, when many viewers may not be aware that the face shown, looking like someone sucking on lemons, is not actually the Great Lady, herself??? This really confounds me. While Googling Garland turns up a plethora of misleading photos of a homely actress pretending to be JG, it seems outrageous and ironic to show this wannabe in a 17-minute video about abuse sustained by Miss Garland, without even telling the viewers that the image being shown is not actually Miss Garland!!!

This was a good, well-researched video. While her adult kids will disagree that their Mother's life was tragic, they will admit that tragic things did happen to her. But they always focus on and remember her phenomenal talent, outrageous sense of humor, and her love for them. Good job!

He created the first regular army in Russia and increased the country's territory by 2 times. It's not really like "the worst king in history." And yes, he is a tsar, not a king. Tsar in translation from Russian means emperor. Ivan the Terrible did not kill his son. His son died of an illness and it is known that Ivan visited him for several days before he died. Rumors about the murder were started by people who could not physically be there at the time of this so-called murder. Ivan iv wasn't a bloody ruler. During his entire reign (over 37 years), fewer people were killed than in one Walpurgis night.

Excellent job on a difficult and sad subject. I've been a fan of Judy Garland since 1965,when i was 5,watching her in that wonderful film The Wizard of Oz. It is so sad about the prescription medications/drugs, that she was given by he mother and MGM studios. She was also put on crazy dies for a teenager, and criticized for her looks or weight. She was also overworked. I know she collapse on the set of the film Girl Crrazy and was only given 2-3 wks off. The "medications" caused a lot of problems especially when she was making the film The Pirate. I once heard her daughter say back then, people called When Judy died at age 47 Liza was concerned it could be Suicide ,and she contacted the London Coroner who concluded 'incautious or accidental overdose. She took some pills at bedtime, then awoke and took more, which was too much for her frail body.

@@Browser__History You really need to tone back your rabid feminism. It’s despicable. Men aren’t to blame for the choices of women. Your choice, your problem. Take responsibility. Judys mother, a woman, knew what she was doing. All she had to do was pull her away from it all. But she didn’t. But again… everything is a mans fault, right? Wrong. It’s mainly women eviscerating their own children before they have a chance at life.

@@Browser__History Judy was an entertainer in every sense of the word, she may have exaggerated a bit to keeps thing interesting but just because they wouldn't admit it doesn't mean it didn't happen look at Hollywood today and it's not really that hard to believe.

@@Browser__History You're not intentionally spreading misinformation, but many folks, especially those born after Judy died, don't really get her wild sense of absurdity and fun, as well as her eagerness to entertain. The idea of midgets reaching up her Dorothy costume is pure Judy humor-- off-the-rails visual absurdity. As with a lot of other stories, it's myth, folklore.
