Calling this Live when someone's been pitch correcting afterwards feels a bit cheap but at least it sounds a lot better than the overproduced album track.

This record started out amazing but it still gets better with every repeat. So many blissfull influences shining through to my ears at least, that I can't help myself but to list all tracks and give a quick glimpse into how much it resonated with me, because I already feel this album will be so special with it's lyrics and messages mirroring what I am going through right now, it will always be part of my spiritual journey, hope to meet these legends live one day! <3 1. Dying Light: The opener is perfectly chosen as a track that highlights the oncoming heaviness of the riffage on this record, as well as showcasing the facettes that make Reliqa stand out, spoken word passages, awesome melodies, important pauses that keep the dynamic afloat and of course the lyrics introduce us to the inner struggle that starts with this opener and will be "figured out" during the album, the fast Protest the Hero-like riffs that keep cascading in the background and foreground are also a theme on this record which gets set up here fantastically. 2. Cave: Wow! This is where the listener already learns that this record is gonna go places, from the hauntingly beautiful synthline until the metallic industrial dystopian sounding drop that makes "Ishan" fans' hearts run faster. Only gripe is that it is too short ;) Such an awesome song to dance and flip out to. I have been in my own Cave last year and this year and actually "forgot what it's like to live" a bit. Scary again how on time these lyrics are. I know a lot of people are unmasking now and facing a big turbulent change. Blessings <3 3. Killstar (The Cold World): Is there such a thing as "Classic Reliqa" already? I think so. This seems to be one of those tracks. Front to back PTH-like riffage again with nothing being overplayed, everything fitting so perfectly together, flowing through many different vibes and singing about the doom and gloom happening in this cold world, still. But we are revealing more and more about the corruptness happening everywhere in the world. "It's excessive, there's more than 7 ways to sin..." - Never heard anything like that but it opened up a flood of realizations for me and why and how I felt like there are so many things we humans do that are perfectly legal but feeling like sins to my soul. I wanna also highlight how Tarot-inspired the chorus seems to me: "Inside, where the miracles go to die, where the LOVERS (tarot card) are filled with spite, and the murderers sleep so tight. Where the richest eclipse the SUN, killing a STAR just to fill their CUP." I might be reading too much into this, but that's what Tarot is all about, right? :D 4. The Flower: A bit scary for me lyrics-wise, because I have been exploring anything "magical" this world has to offer. Including tripping on many psychedelics, undergoing spiritual practices and more. So much that I "pushed it too far as I became possessed". The chorus was the first one to really wyrm itself into my brain for good. Such a great melody and rhyme-scheme. Could there be a better way than to sing "the villain in my throat had much more to say" and then go into a short but very powerful spoken word/rap passage? Cascading riffs all the way through the song and absoloutely insane syncopation between all the instruments, highlighting the drums in the verses. Ending in the MOST BRUTAL DROP I have ever heard besides the Ending of some Spiritbox songs. WOW! So glad there is no harsh vocals here, not needed at all. The pauses in the drop were masterfully chosen and less was WAY MORE here indeed! 5. Sariah: This one was a bit of a grower for me at first, because of it's more ballad-y approach, but wow once the chorus hooks you, it's hard to escape. Love the bass-lines here and how the spacious sound allows all band members to shine. The guitar tunes here remind me of some of the best metal core ballads I have heard. I see this song as a turning point in the album where on your spiritual journey you have come far enough to not see too much dark or too much light, but want to be accepting of new realizations. Literally let the "Secrets of the Future come to you". The brutal pinch harmonics in the drop parts of this song are HAUNTING. I have no idea how they mixed this to be so dynamic. The riffs start so low feeling like they come from the earth's core, ending in a beautiful soundscape of a solo that rivals some of the beautiful work of "Riverside" but again is a bit too short (for my taste). 6. Terminal: What can I say? This is the Babymetal/Electric Callboy song on the record. No harsh breakdowns, no spoken word passages, just a *very* effective earworm of a song to dance and vibe to. At first I thought it was gonna be my least favorite song on the record, but boy was I wrong. It is basically a pallet cleanser in the exact middle of the record, resulting in me never ever expecting how hard I immediately vibe when the synth starts. The buildup to the last chorus could maybe have been more pay-off heavy, but the more I listen to it, the more I love it. The last chorus has so many more layers in it, just listen to the burst of colour happening at the end! "Rage against the way that we hate ourselves and putting our energy somewhere else" is a lesson all of us spiritual and self-actualizing people seem to go through. Let me start by loving you and also raging against the way you hate yourself <3 Keep on going! 7. Keep Yourself Awake: Probably my ABSOLUTE favorite Reliqa track to date? It' so original and groovy djenty and perfect... it reminds me a lot of Northlane's track "Is this a test?" and/or "Echo Chamber", awesome vibe, I'd love a whole record with these kind of experimental songs. Maybe Spiritbox's "Rotoscope" also fits into this playlist ;) The dream is a lie? Well yes, it is. But also a lie we might as well embrace as long as we're here in this "Matrix", eh? As long as you don't forget that the dream is a lie and consciousness is more fundamental than 3d reality. "If I'm gonna feel alive, I'm gonna feel it alone!" 8. Crossfire: Beautiful song. Not sure where to put it overall, it seems to me like a new shade of Reliqa alltogether. More in the ballad category, keeping us grounded between the 2 crazy songs number 7 and 9. Favorite passage starts at 2 min for me. Powerful metaphorical almost biblical lyrics imagining a wipe/redo of our world? Maybe this time while keeping our consciousness and memories? Again with a beautiful heartfelt guitar solo at the end that scales so perfectly it's almost scary. 9. Physical: Might be my second favorite of the record. The energy is amazing and I love the synth again very much. The almost "Blue Man Group" sounding pipe-drum sounds are awesome, too. Very djenty basslines and a different approach to "filling space" with the guitarwork. I meditated so much and neglected my physical machine (body) for a long time. Time to feel the hate (and love) get physical. The riffage starting at the middle point and coming back at the end is INSANE! Reminds me a bit of some songs by "Within the Ruins" - Almost classical sounding fast scales happening here. Near the end of the song it turns almost into an oriental vibe. Very interesting. This song reminded me of instrumental Reliqa "Golden Age" on Eventide. I love how they incoorperated enough room for the songs to have instrumental parts, without commiting to a full instrumental on the record. Best of both worlds! 10. Two Steps Apart: Okay, hear me out. The mood, the guitar tune, the lyrics and melodies remind me SO MUCH of Bullet for my Valentine's record "Scream, Aim, Fire" in particular "Hearts burst into Fire" and "Forever and Always" in the best ways. This song seeps right through the cracks into my heart and makes me cry almost every time... "are we through the hardest part?" I think we are, but the reminders and nostalgia still weighs heavy on our hearts until we finally arrive in the moment and are open to receiving secrets of the future. LUCK IS ON OUR SIDE! 11. A Spark: Okay, maybe this one is the most unique Reliqa song? Who cares, it's AWESOME! I don't think I have ever heard a more seamless blend of electro / triphop and metal. The perfectly paced progression almost makes you forget the contrast from beginning to end. The haunting keyboard/snyth scale in the background is giving me major 90s/2000s trance vibes. The spoken word passage might also be my favorite on the record. Again could have lingered way longer in it's strong parts and for me could easily become a 7 min track. 12. Upside Down: Excuse me? The starting riff wants to return home to the band "Anciients" xD - Just kidding, but it reminded me so hard of them it's uncanny. Would love to know if Reliqa knows of Anciients. Anyway, this song is actually my "least favorite" if I had to choose one. Not fair to compare songs on this diverse record, tho. That being said I still don't wanna skip it, I just think A Spark might have been a cleaner album closer. The postive vibes in the chorus make sense to close off the album, tho. Overall a pretty much perfect record that will be with me for years and have me "Step into the Center of the Dying Light" again and again... Grettings from germany, hope to catch you live, soon! <3

This is incredible. Would you care to share what inspired this song? Sariah is someone who is apparently from the Book of Mormon (per google) so I was curious if there was another origin for the name.

I was also curious about the woman in the lyrics. It may indeed be a song about Lehi, a prophet from the Book of Mormon, who was constantly getting revelations from God through dreams, and Sariah, his wife.
