there are 2 ways. reset the Leafs. Or do an axle "flip". (making it axle over instead of under) the flip requires you to mod the axle. you cut off the old perches and rotate 180 deg or weld on a new perch on the other side, then move the shock mount over enough to clear the ubolt. this is the best way, but is the more involved way. unless you get an axle to mod. then its an easy swap. You will need to drill a hole is the bolt plates to locate onto the spring as the dowel is on the underside. This is what I did before I converted to AWD you will also need to relocate the brake proportional valve rod too as it will be too long the bracket it slides in is on the other side there is a jumbuck group on FB where there is abit of info on the already

Been struggling over whether to get an auto Fortuner gxl 2017 or a manual mux ls-u 2018 (cant find a manual in the fortuner to my liking). I want a manual but Mux doesn't ĥave diff lock, which bothers me cos I want to get some 4wdring done. Coming off a 2006 Hilux, which did everything I needed it to without the diff lock....don't know why I'm so stuck on it now. Watching this vid makes me feel like the MUX is the right choice regardless.
@cre8ive_customs
@cre8ive_customs 7 ай бұрын
I can't offer an opinion on the Fortuner, as i dont know what they are like. The mux with a lift and decent tyres would go places. The lack of a locker or even an LSD is the only downside. As mentioned in the video, i drove this on HT tyres, and it handled extremely well for what i put it through.
@sida3590
@sida3590 7 ай бұрын
@cre8ivecustomsgarage Thanks for your reply. Yea, I settled on the 2018 MUX manual gearbox. Haven't got it yet. Here's hoping it's a good one! Researched adding a rear diff lock and it's doable in around $3G installed. Although in the vid you seemed to be doing alright without it or even decent traction control, which apparently the gen 1 MUX do lack.
@cre8ive_customs
@cre8ive_customs 7 ай бұрын
I think most of it i picked the right line. Towards the end where it gets to the washouts it struggled. Where a locker or lsd would of made a massive difference.
