nice, brings back good memories. Can you please share what will be the best microphone setup for ambiance setup like these nowadays? One that will give you the best quality possible. Are the ambisonic mics the way to go? Or a combination of ambisonic with an MKH 8020? Or just two stereo MKH 8020 ? Lets say money is not a problem.

I love blackbirds singing. It is one of the most significant memory sounds of my childhood. Your lovely recording immediately brings me back in time and soothes me. I have recorded blackbirds many times, but often ambiances and other birds interfere. Did you use special equipment to isolate the singing male?

Lovely sounding bird. Some bird sounds aren't that soothing to me but this blackbird could lull me to sleep.

I noticed the same thing, some birds do "sing" but it doesn't sound melodic or pleasant. Interesting, and it makes me appraciate blackbirds and the other melodic ones more

If I want to hear these amazing singers all I have to do is open my balcony door, I am lucky that way 🍀

Wonderful recording! May I ask what the faint flute like sound in the background is? Is that also produced by the frogs or toads or is it unrelated. I've heard plenty of croaking in the wild before, but never accompanied by those other sounds. Or is it simply birdsong of some species that I currently don't have on my radar? 😅

Madagascar has always been a place I've wanted to go. The description you've written really sets the stage for the audio recording and paints a picture for the listener. If you close your eyes and imagine, you almost feel like you're there. Wonderful!

Beautifully captured! Many species of frogs around the world are under threat from habitat loss from deforestation, disease and climate change. Documenting the sounds of spring are exquisitely captured here. As spring has long been associated with love and new beginnings, it's a reminder to encourage people to spend more time outdoors, enjoying each other's company. Thanks George!

So, is it the same as in Kenya with cows and roosters always somewhere in the background, or is it as breathtaking as I think it is, just uninterrupted sound with no people, just Madagascar?

Oh new video from you! 🤩 I get so excited every time I see you upload a new video, especially when I'm working and looking for nature sounds to help me relax and concentrate better. 🤗 By the way, what the heck is making that strange noise at minute 27? Is that a monkey or something similar? 🤔
@aaronjmassey2 күн бұрын
That is a strange noise at minute 27. I hear wings flapping at 27.19. A bird perhaps or just another bird nearby? So interesting. Some estimates are that we know 20% of Earth’s species. This is mind blowing and why the work George is doing is so important. In all likelihood, discovering new species at night would make sense. George says how remote this area and how poorly researched it is. Further exploration of this area is needed.
@DanielaBunu2 күн бұрын
@@aaronjmassey hey Aaron, that’s crazy when we know only about 20% … That means there is a lot we don’t know about yet… 👀

@@DanielaBunu Hey Daniela. Search "Map of Life" in Google. It's a very interesting website that you can explore national biodiversity indicators such as Species Habitat, Protection, and Information Indices. Explore biodiversity patterns, checklists and more. I think you'd like it.

THANK YOU for the real sounds. There's a lot of videos like this on KZfaq with artificially combined sounds. You can tell when it's real.

You're very welcome! Not everyone can tell what's real and what's layered/looped, but on a subconscious level they can probably feel it.
@rgerberКүн бұрын
unfortunately there are literally MILLIONS of rain videos on youtube which of them 99% are just looped and mixed noise. Its like a wash of content each all getting thousands of views and guess, people dont even realize it. The few real rain recordings are getting burried below that mass of content.
