I'm most of the way into my 4th novel (75K-85K words each) on Google Docs and the only "lag" difficulty I experience comes when I take a break and find it autosaved and makes me find the spot I was editing.

@@thelifeofawriter I'm trying to format in Word now & it's a lot like Whack-A-Mole. Each step has the tendency to undo what I did before. Apparently there's a step-by-step sequence, like cracking a combination on a safe.

This is frustrating. When I preview in kindle create it looks one way. Then when I upload my file I created in KC and view it in KDP regular site it looks off and everything is all out of wack.

I indent/Align my Chapter title to the center just fine. But when I Align/Indent my beginning paragraph back to the left again, my title goes to the left side with it. HOW DO I FIX THIS???

I prefer to use Word mostly because of familiarity, and a feeling of security. I might give docs a try, as I'm thinking of possibly maybe getting a Chromebook. 🤔 Thanks so much for the comparison! Love your content! 👍🏾

I did exactly what you're saying, but my TOC "dotted line" runs past the page margin and puts the page number of every chapter underneath the chapter title. (*I also have a chapter numeral above the chapter title for every chapter. I put the numeral and title both on the 'chapter title' style - don't know if this is a problem?). Any suggestions? I would gladly pay someone to do this! I finished writing the book long ago, but the formatting issues are bogging me down. Maybe it's my dated computer and Word 10 that is the problem...

@@thelifeofawriter yes. I finally found a video (Leon Renner) about what to do if your TOC isn't behaving that showed some hidden features to access more hidden snares in more layers of Word! (That program is evil! lol) Finally got my page numbers to align on the margin! Thank you for replying!

I just wrote my first book and was super proud! I wrote it one reedsy but I clicked I button that said “time line” and I started to scroll through it. It reset my whole book to say one where I had no writing at all. I was able to half way reset it but I’m missing my whole last chapter 😭
