Turns out to be a regular old garter snake. Great for the garden, he was not messed with after this and wriggled off to live a full and happy life.

Yes, having some sort of self protection and the ability/skill/knowledge to use it is very wise but avoiding the trouble when you cam is also a good idea. You just never know who is coming the other way.

Sadly the Roo saga continues. He's having troubles in his new home already so we are trying to find a place for this young man somewhere in the world. I'll drive him anywhere in the US or Canada, anything further than that, I will fly him or float him there. We WILL find this guys forever home. Just such a g'boy... such a g'boy.
