Why does the whole humilitated grapes scene seem like a bad lip reading video 😂 I love it!

I believe the reason these scenes were cut, was mainly because of unnecessarily frequent melancholy. Somber tones would stand out bit too much, making the whole movie kind of cheesy 😬

Why were all these scenes cut? I saw them a long time ago in a film. Or maybe I watched the director's cut.

Why isn’t Elizabeth nasty to Norrington?i would be. He just wanted a trophy. I would have ordered him to do as I wished and screw his proposal. I wish she was mean to him when he deserved it

I kinda wish Elizabeth stomped harder on Norringtons heart. She’s so nice and he treats her love like dirt.

I'm convinced all the scenes that were deleted either humanized Jack or James. Which is a tragedy, because some of these scenes add so much to both of them.

Elizabeth and James honestly deserved each other. As you explore every movie, hers and Will’s relationship was an on and off confrontation. Like how he treated Elizabeth after finding out that she pretended to be him. And then how he betrayed them to see that Beckett had Will as a visitor on the Endeavor. Sure, Jack pushed him over, but he had a reason of course. There’s so much more.

James has always been my favorite character…. I always thought of him as a kind, honest character who is very into his job. He is and now one of his lines has become part of my personality even though his death killed me- I use “belay that” all the time when I’m mad or angry 🤷‍♀️😭

Always adored the dialogue used in these movies. To some they might have initially been seen as pirate movies for children and families based off of a rollercoaster but even something so simple (albeit essential) as the dialogue was always so good. It was so interesting, inventive and all around fun. Even just the above exchange with Jack and Norrington from the movie: Norrington: 'You will then spend the rest of the voyage contemplating all possible meanings the phrase: Silent as the grave. Do I make myself clear?' Jack: 'Inescapably clear'. The interactions are so full of well constructed wit that they really help the characters form a greater, more accessible identity. The best example of course is Jack who, while often seeming crazy, a daydreamer or an idiot, is clearly extremely intelligent and capable, a true chess master who uses a front of eccentricity (regardless of how natural it might be to him) to fool, leverage and generally outmanoeuvre his opponents and his long winded tangents and deliberate verbal dead ends are a perfect example of the power of the script of these movies.

People are too hard on Elizabeth. Remember her character was an 18-year-old girl in this movie. She was desperate to save Will so that's why she agreed to marry Norrington. Yes, it was unfair of her to do so but you can understand why she did it.
