My Hurakan is i a box in a closet, torn down and useless. After installing three boards and three external monitors for Klipper, I decided the print head is complete junk. I tried a couple of other print heads but getting them to fit and work on the hot bed was a PITA. So I canned that machine. If you're still using it, I'll send you the box and all of the parts I have for the cost of shipping.

If you are printing with high-temperature filaments like PETG or PLA, i strongly consider you taking that top lid off no matter what, even if you have a vented riser you must take it off. As stated on the lid's label too, they say to take it off. When i didn't follow this, i got my K1 clogged up, though this isn't a direct problem to clogs, you must take it off to avoid such bad clogs to the point where you need to use a drill or buy a new hotend. Trust me, it'll be a pain and you won't be happy. Even the exhaust fan won't help. If you are looking for a 3D printer like the K1 that can have the lid on, i consider you buying the K1C, although i'm not exactly quite sure if the K1C lets you have the lid on with PETG, PLA, etc, or only on carbon fiber filaments. Be safe with your K1 and treat it with love, sometimes it goes bad but hard work pays off. My K1 is also fine now.

I’m using Swiss micros special nozzles on both of my machines both of which have riser-tops. I’ve never had a nozzle vlog with either of these machines (K-1 and Kmax) which I’ve owned sine the first came out. Pla is not a high temp filament. PETG and Asa are. I use a lot of Asa on these machines and my X1C which is a fully enclosed machine is an external box as well.

Here's my second reply. I started printing with an original Anet A8. That was a long long time ago. I hear what you're saying, and upon further thought I'm thinking you've had some problems with nozzles jamming? If so, I'd suggest you check the cooling system your printer(s) us to cool the heat exchanger above the nozzle. In my experience on an old Xvico Pioneer for example the nozzle always clogged when the fan either stopped or went intermittent on the exchanger. Other causes of clogging: filament in general is hydroscopic, meaning it pulls water out of the air. Houses are full of water, more than we'd like to think. Why 3D printers don't INCLUDE a hotbox for the filament still confuses me. Cheap filament and "recycled" filament also has problems because the solids don't melt like the smaller pieces that go into the filament. Filament can be abrasive. Bits of the tube delivering the filament to the print head can lodge in the nozzle and cause a jam for example. The nozzle can contribute to a clog. All that heating and cooling can deform the nozzle which leads to shavings developing and breaking off. The gears on the extruder can contribute to clogs as they break down. Someday someone's going to build a better extruder mechanism, I hope. Strange as it may seem retraction can such crap off the bed and back up the nozzle so that it clogs on the way down. Retraction also causes internal abrasion between the roll and the nozzle. The process of taking everything apart to clean the nozzle / print head can leave microscopic crap in the gear that collects during printing and clogs the nozzle.These are some of the most obvious causes of clogging, none of which have anything to do with a raised top hat on your printer.

In case you haven't found it yet. You need to untick the "close holes" option in your slicer for the K1. This option automatically closes any holes present in the model on the XY axes. The reason why one row of holes is unaffected is because this option does not close holes that appear on the Z axis.
@corlissmedia2.0
@corlissmedia2.0 4 ай бұрын
Interesting. I don't remember ticking that box, but it does explain what happened. And I do remember unticking it, and everything going back to normal, so there's that "evidence" to support your input. Thank you, that's a brilliant deduction on your part!

I am so glad I did not buy the K1 even with a concrete slab it is still too noisy for me. I think that you have to encase the whole machine in concrete and drop it in a pond to reduce that level of noise. LOL
@corlissmedia2.0

Actually, you have to remove the left side panel, loosen the screws that hold the frame square, then move the print head back and forth and side to side a couple of times. Then you have to tighten the screw again, replace the panel, and all should be improved. Replacing the print head with MicroSwiss's improved print head is also a good idea.

Hard to say for sure from the video but I think it may be prudent to check a few things. I have a K1 max that made some really gnarly noises when I got it and there were a couple mechanical issues that needed to be addressed. 1. the lube that Creality uses is absolute garbage. I switched to a CV axle lube with moly and it made an enormous difference. I have heard lithium works well, too but I haven't tried it yet. 2. the XY guide rails may be out of alignment. You can loosen them off from the chassis with minimal disassembly and then move the print head across the X and Y axis a few times by hand and tighten them back up. 3. Check belt tension. Creality basically ruined the adjusters on mine during assembly so I had to make some modifications but that helped as well. My printer is VERY quiet now.

I'm just wondering... I saw the same solution from an audiophile friend to limit the vibration of the loudspeakers to the floor. He also (apart from using floor spikes under the loudspeakers) puts a heavy plate under the loudspeakers, but made of granite instead of concrete. Moreover, he also places an additional granite slab on the loudspeakers to reduce vibrations. I think this might make sense 🤔
@corlissmedia2.0
@corlissmedia2.0 7 ай бұрын
The vibrations coming from the speaker are the sound you want to hear. Putting weight on the box would dampen them. The concrete paving tile under all three of my printers absorbs the motion of the machine.
@Kali_Kali
@Kali_Kali 7 ай бұрын
@@corlissmedia2.0 I mean the idea. As I see, the higher the table is (i.e. the center of gravity as well), the more the entire K1 structure wobbles and plays. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think that a heavy slab, e.g. of concrete or granite on top, could stiffen the K1 and reduce these vibrations. When I buy the Creality K1, I will check it out. Of course, with 3D prints and filament, where the manufacturer recommends placing the cover on top 🙂 The inertia of the entire K1 structure should also increase.

Buy the P1P, it's priced equal to the Max right now. Bambu Labs has their act together. Creality steals everyone else's ideas and does support them when they throw up on your work. Plus, the Bambu gear is far quieter. Your wife will love that. And Bambu Labs is releasing great updates that actually work versus crashing your Creality Gear.
