He didn't say that Hojo had Cloud, he said that he's curious where Cloud is as well, and so is Hojo (since he would want an update on his experiment). * That slap-fight was actually winnable * This is the airship that was teased in Junon in Rebirth * Now that you have the Highwind, I'd highly recommend going back to that town in the snow for important Aerith lore (watch everything in the room with all the machinery). You can't land on snow, you have to land on the green part and walk there.

Some thoughts/clarifications: * When Tifa says "actually, it's been seven years," she doesn't mean that the big Nibelheim/Sephiroth flashback was 7 years ago. She means that the last time she saw him was 7 years ago from that flashback where they're sitting on the water tower/well as children. * You might have picked up on this already, but if you think back at all the times that Sephiroth appears in this and in Remake/Rebirth, it's either an illusion coming from Cloud or from a cloaked guy, due to their Jenova cells (even in Rebirth when Cloud is saved by Sephiroth from the giant Snake, it's coming from him). The real Sephiroth is the topless one, and he's been in that crater the whole time. * The fact that Tifa's fatal character flaw is that she keeps all of her feelings/secrets bottled up inside is the reason why her last name is "Lockhart"-- she keeps her feelings locked away in her heart. * Personally, I was really hoping that Rebirth would have instead ended at where you ended this video. Sephiroth dropping that bomb, Cloud being completely lost, Tifa revealing what was happening from her perspective, the reunion story coming to a close, Meteor being summoned, the photograph reveal, Weapon coming alive. It would be a much more satisfying/cohesive ending to a story, IMO. Seeing meteor in the sky could have been a really effective post-credit teaser, and the third game would start here. I think that would have made much more sense (instead, the third game's going to start with.... Snowboarding? Kinda weird). Oh well.

and this is why you shouldn't play CC before OG Huge plot twist happens (player supposed to believe cloud is a clone) -> "ah well but actually it wasn't like that in crisis core, I know he is the real cloud !" way to ruin an experience

Oh darn, you missed the Aerith/Weapon lore dump in Icicle Inn. It's pretty essential story. The room with all the machinery was interactable. You might be able to see it later, when you're able to return to that town. Maybe something to keep in mind and prioritize. It's too bad you played Crisis Core beforehand. The mystery of Cloud's past is so much more compelling when you don't know some of the casual spoilers from CC.

They definitely including Aerith in some of these parts in part 3. Since Aerith can talk with Cloud through dreams, and also Sephiroth might show him one of the realities where Aerith died. So that is another reason to push him over the edge.

Ff7 OG still has a lot of stuff for Aerith, her parents past gets revealed, characters still talk about her, and she is present in away until the end even if not physically. You should watch Advent Children after OG, I think it will be important for Rebirth and part 3.

In Rebirth when Aerith dies and Cloud is crying, there is a flashes of the moments where Cloud is saying something while holding Aerith. I'm pretty sure that's exactly what he said during this scene, in another timeline/world.

I can only imagine how amazing Wutai will look in the next part. Yuffie can be a real pain sometimes but I still love her 😂🤣

I'm ecpecting to see Wutai and Rocket town in part 3. I wonder how they will integrate the story there. Wutai will be incredible, and I can already invusion the side-quests.

The models are supposed to be see-through in that Temple of the Ancients scene, but because the mod replaced them with more detailed models, it's actually obstructing what's happening more than it should. I agree that Cait Sith is handled way better in Rebirth (it's straight up dumb in this), but I also think Rebirth very poorly explained the mechanism of how the temple worked. The game of hot-potato with the Black Materia between Cloud and Sephiroth was very confusing, IMO. It was very "Wait, so was it fake or not? Why is it suddenly real now?" Seemed like it actually did work the same way, but they don't tell you anything.

I don't know who is telling you that you need to swap out your party. They are wrong. Use whomever you want.

Great episode! You really don't feel like wanting to forgive Cait Sith in the OG. His character arc is so much better in Rebirth. I remember when I first played this game, when Cloud was beating Aerith. I know it was Sephiroth/Jenova controlling him but I still couldn't forgive him. I had to take a break from the game after this scene because I didn't want to play as Cloud anymore. I am so glad they changed it in Rebirth, can you even imagine a scene like this with the graphics of Rebirth? I don't think anyone would be able to forgive Cloud after that. This is also why the date scenes in the OG and Rebirth always felt a bit bittersweet to me, and I've always said Cloud isn't ready to date anyone yet, he needs to find and "fix" himself first.

The thing is Rebirth and the whole Re-trilogy feels like a sequel to OG and Advent Children. Sephiroth clearly has a different plan in Rebirth, definitely has way more knowledge and Aerith knows what happen ls to her, Cloud and others. Im still wondering if it's time travel stuff, or just knowledge from the future and past that is at play in new games. Cloud is haunted by Aerith's death in Remake, he constantly sees her death, or her in Sleeping Forest as if he already expirienced it or is it just flashes of the future/another timeline? It's so much different. Sephiroth is much bigger character already in Rebirth and Remake. I think it will be interesting to finish OG and theorise how they will change and add stuff. Especially when it comes to Aerith in part 3.

Aerith date in Rebirth is the only that is kept canon. You can look up all others in OG, and boy, they are way different. Aerith date In OG is the best.

The theatre play and the dates is done so well in Rebirth. They kept the essence of the OG and just elevated it to the next level and I really like that. Cait Sith’s betrayal is really bad in the OG, there’s no way to forgive him so I like the way they changed him in Rebirth. In Rebirth it’s easier to forgive him and let him back on our team.

As you can see, Rebirth kept the exact same dialogue (for the most part) for Aerith’s date, and it's important for Cloud’s character as well. And Cait Sith was much more irredeemable in OG in Rebirth they changed his character for the better. You should still watch the other OG dates when you have the time they are quite nice even tho Rebirth elevated all of them. 😊

They changed Cait Sith in Rebirth because everyone hated him in the original. They softened his betrayal somewhat.

* You can run away from fights (you probably didn't learn about it because the mod replaced the tutorial room in Sector 7 with the room where the creator talks to you), but not sure what your button maps are. In the original, you did it by holding both shoulder buttons. * 3 discs is misleading. The majority of the game's size is due to cutscene video files, and there are too many to fit on one CD. The entire story/game itself w/o cutscenes was just 100MB (A disc holds 700MB), Most of the story is on the first 2 discs (and Midgar is the most dense in story, time-wise), and the 3rd disc is just the final hour or so of the ending (because it has a ton of cutscenes that use up the CD space). That's why we're 2/3 of the remakes in and still only on the first disc. * I think the VA mod screwed up your dialogue options/outcomes for the play, so it didn't make any sense (it's a bug they didn't fix). The outcome you got is what would happen if you asked the Wizard for the Dragon's weakness and he told you "true love", then the game's supposed to ask you who you want to kiss and your outcome was if you chose the Dragon. * Glad you got the Aerith date. While my favorite is the Tifa date, it's the one part of this VA mod that I think they ruined with their rewrites. * Without spoiling, Tifa's reaction to Red XIII in 41:30 is very interesting to keep in mind. Her last name, "Lockhart" has a lot of hidden meaning behind it.

Great episode! Meeting Cid is totally different in the OG. In Rebirth we haven't been to Rocket Town yet, I'm sure we'll go there in part 3. It will be different since we already have the Tiny Bronco. Cid is really horrible to Shera and I am wondering how he will act in part 3 when we get to meet her.

Great you got to Gongaga even though it isn’t much here and you only missed the Turk scene. This is the area that’s been expanded the most in Rebirth and I really like all the changes they did. Seeing the weapons, the fight with Scarlet, Tifa in the lifestream and meeting Cissnei is all new stuff in Rebirth. I do wonder if we’ll get more story on Cissnei in part 3. And there you have Vincent on your team too! Vincent did mention Lucrecia in Rebirth. He did not say anything about her being Sephiroth’s mother or that Vincent loved her. I think we will get a lot of story on both Vincent and Cid in part 3 and the devs have already said they will be playable in the next part 😁

In the OG Johnny is just another side character, but in Remake and Rebirth they made him a fun side character with a backstory. I like that they did this with a lot of the side characters. LOL, the Gold Soucer is very much like a real team park, they’re so expensive you’ll leave with no money.

The cargo ship on the way to Costa Del Sol is a big difference from the full-on cruise ship in Rebirth. Personally, I like all the story changes they’ve done from the original in both Remake and Rebirth. I can still understand that some people do not like it and that is totally fine. One thing I believe we can all agree on though is the world is absolutely beautiful in Remake and Rebirth, I’m just talking about the aesthetic and not how it is to explore the world.

Whoho, you got Yuffie on the team! She is much more annoying here, I still like her though. I really liked the way they changed her in the DLC and Rebirth. As for the dialogue/memories. I agree, I think it is partly Zack, or maybe more correct a mix between his own memories of himself and the stories Zack has told him. I don’t believe Cloud has Zack’s memories like I've seen some people believe, but I do believe he vaguely remember his talk with Zack (which we see in Crisis Core) and also we know Zack was talking to him a lot while Cloud was mako poisened and I'm sure Zack told a lot of stories from his life as a soldier. Since Cloud don’t remember anything about Zack yet I believe he got his own memories mixed up with some of the stories Zack has told him and believes some of them to be his own stories. At least that is how I see it 😀

Great episode! Sorry I’m late, I’m doing a bit of catch up now, I’ve been really busy lately so I haven’t been able to watch much on KZfaq at all, but now things are finally slowing down and I can relax a bit. The Sephiroth part with “I’m going to see my mother” and also him in the flames are classic, I believe most people, who are into gaming at least, have seen it. I do like how they expanded on it in Rebirth. They made the scenes more emotional and also much more scary in my opinion. The chokobo catching is a pain….I’m glad they changed it up in Rebirth.

about Final Fantasy Ever Crisis, it's mainly worth it because of Sephiroth's story (the combat is also kind of fun). But having to level up to advance the story was sooo annoying, probably the biggest problem with the game, but I heard they somehow fixed it so maybe it's a little better now (I haven't played it after that so I can't tell for sure) So even if you decide not to play, maybe you can react to it? anyway it would be good to see, not many people who played ff7 know the story of Ever Crisis.

A lot of fans were actually upset that they have changed Cid in Rebirth. I still think we will get his past in part 3 where we see hiss negative side come out. But it won't be as horrible as in OG.

The scramblings inside those tubes in the end are left by Zack and Cloud when they were there. They were able to communicate somehow by scrambling on the wall of their tubes. It's really sad.

* Yeah, you missed Gongaga and the story missables, unfortunately. You tried to enter it, but you have to get off the buggy first. Might be too late to trigger now, but no harm in seeing the town, I suppose. * Missed a smaller missable in Cosmo Canyon too. Could have gotten more lore from the two elders during a specific window. * FYI, the "puzzle" in Corel prison was that the three NPCs never tell the truth, so "the boss is South-West" = North-East. * I do prefer the OG bleak conclusion of Dyne's story, but the Rebirth one's fine too, if a little cliched/cheesy with the more typical sacrifice scene. * Red's voice doesn't explicitly change in OG, but there's a similar hint of him using less mature/more boyish phrases in the Japanese after this point (just doesn't translate into English well).
