this feels like it needs a cut in the 500-700 range and some carving out where the vocals sit in the mids

@AntiPattern12316 күн бұрын
The self recorded drums are dope. When you mangle them as a loop it will get the DnB vibe. Have you tried to work with slices for the warped timestretching wobble?
@ShakyTapes16 күн бұрын
Oufff thanks a bunch buddy!! Man I should try that, would you use a loop and time stretch that or the whole thing, what do you think?
@AntiPattern12316 күн бұрын
@@ShakyTapes Just one loop of 4 bars. A lot of stuttering, beat repeat, buffering shenanigans :D
@ShakyTapes16 күн бұрын
Haha pooor poor drums 🥲 I just thought about doing something like that AND grain it to 💀 with my tape machine… mohahah
@commente16 күн бұрын
why not just play along (if you have to) with a slowed down youtube version of the song on your headphones? Seems a lot easier to me
@ShakyTapes16 күн бұрын
Hey that’s actually worth trying. Real interesting tbh! Do you think it’s less of a gamble with KZfaq than a tape machine’s slow down button?
@commente16 күн бұрын
@@ShakyTapes Sure. You could also learn the drum pattern by heart (might not be that difficult) and play along to a metronome. I guess most people get into these tape machines for the wobbly, wonky sound it gives. MIght be your last step: recording to tape. Anyway, have fun experimenting!
@ShakyTapes16 күн бұрын
Yeah I used those machines for the nice mess they bring to the table, but good idea either way! 🤘

Loving this approach :) Takes me back to stacking and cutting beats and cutting up melodies on my double decker cassette player (which was also essential for making «backups» of «my» C64- games …) - good times :)
