nice video and amazing cleaning gear. But according to SIG you mounted the spring the wrong way: the open side of the spring faces the guide rod. (video link for reference: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pruGabeQrKiahKM.html) if you have the open side fazing the muzzle side , you risk pushing it through every time you mount it.

Good job but be a little more specific.... even the smallest error or misplacement can cause a nightmare...... like the quick vid but maybe just put 10 more seconds in for details 👍

There's better and easier way to clean a gun than this. And I never leave excess oil on the gun, UNLESS I'm storing it long term. That was too much oil left on the barrel.

Don’t forget to remove the choke tube and clean the treads and then apply some choke tube grease on them and reinstall the tube. That way it won’t rust in the barrel and you’ll never be able to remove it.

I have a problem. I racked it. Pulled the trigger. Pulled slide back some. Pulled down on takedown lever. The recoil rod slid forward. I accidently go of the takedown lever. The gun locked. I can't rack it. I can't pull the slide back. It is frozen. Any suggestions?

The video will forget to tell you your probably gonna fight the assembly link for over an hour. Getting that lined up for the pin to go in is literally so hard. It just flops around with nothing to hold it. So you just kinda pray I lines up. If your unlucky like me you’ll be spending an hour or more putting it back together.

I have a brand new Remington 870 field master I have only shot 7 target loads through it and I went to clean it and the patches keep on coming out a brown color and I let the break free clp set for about 25 minutes and I repeated this for 3 times and they are still coming out brown I used the bronze brush in between the patches and it doesent help but I looked inside the barrel with a bore light and it looks completely clean

I'd strongly argue against lubing a Glock as shown in this video. A Glock is manufactured to essentially run just about dry. Over lubing or greasing will cause fouling build up that will eventually cause trigger issues. It will also void your warranty. Follow Glock lubing instructions to the letter for optimum performance of your firearm.

You might want to mention that when replacing the spring that the curved end goes down into the recess of the barrel and not the flat side. Very thorough explanation, thanks!

Thanks... My dad always recommended looking on KZfaq to review how to clean a gun, even if you've done it before. I'm gonna admit that i've been remiss in deep cleaning my Browning Lightning sporting-clays edition Citori that my dad got me when I was finally serious about skeet... He passed away in 2021, sad to say I haven't cleaned the choke tubes since... oh well, it's getting done now. Not like I even shoot anymore, too busy instructing lol

2 things that ive heard mixed things on that you did in this video. I thought you werent supposed to let CLP touch night sights as itll break them, and I thought you were supposed to be careful with getting clp into the trigger mechanism since its hard to clean out and accumulates gunk easier. Just curious but wanted to know what people thought on that
