I followed the instructions, was able to change the rubber, following also the pinned comment (filing a little of the hole). However, got a new problem, I must have done something wrong during the disassembly. My cricut won’t load my mat, it just keeps on blinking white and doesn’t respond when I click the load button. 😢 I contacted Cricut and they said it might be a button problem and they can’t replace the machine as it is out of warranty. Anyone encountered the same issue or know how to resolve this?

@ 3:17 you removed a spring. Later you put that spring in the wrong location during reassembly @ 23:11 You put that spring on the wrong secure point. I know it looks like the correct placement but IT IS NOT back where it was removed from! Perhaps that stamped metal frame is used for multiple models and utilizes that "hook" in other designs but NOT in this Maker3 model.

What did you end up doing with the power supply? (If you've got a vid on it, I can't find it so far.)

"Open Smart" arduino boards are also good - lower quality but many of their ones come with different features. The other ones in your video looks great too

I have had this exact meter for a couple of years. But i still mostly use my Beckman industrial digital meter from the early 90s, it just keeps working and simple to use. 30 plus years old. Larry

Fusion 360 is much better for manipulating an stl file, if you are going to learn a cad, it might as well be a powerful one. Larry

I agree that it is a much better product but you can do a lot with just the knowledge of this seven and a half minute tutorial if that's all you're interested in putting into it. I don't really have the time or desire to learn real cad though. I truly do encourage anyone who wants to to try fusion

Awesome, i think i still have all my books from the late 70s early 80s. It would be fun to make them 50 year later. I build a bunch of radio shack kits like the intercom kit, in the late 70s. Thanks for sharing this brings back good memories and reminds me what a geek i was as a kid. Larry

Are these not common for electricians to use in the US when she went installation certificate? Certify? It’s good or not? Because the way these comments are peoples seem to think it’s revolutionary to check an electrical installation is safe

What about for those of us not fluent in coding and arduinos, is there a ready made controller to buy? I'd like to use it to control a 3-phase relay. Is that possible? Thanks

I probably owe my entire career to Mr. Mims (and Don Lancaster). Aside from the "just enough" explanations in his books, what really separated them from many of the others at the time was that the THE CIRCUITS ACTUALLY WORKED! And you could buy all the parts right there at radio shack.

I was an electronics nerd most of my life. Found an old electronics book of my uncle's at my granny's house and she gave it to me when I was about 11. I'm 79 so that book was basically tube technology. But I learned the basics from that book about electron flow etc. A couple years later joined a mail order club where each month I got a little package, I think it was 3.95 a month lol, and it was clever in that each month with a few more parts we could build ever more complex circuits. In the end we had a little tube amp and radio. Very basic but I learned a lot from that little experience. Fast forward to the 70's and I discovered Forrest Mims and chips. I was a traveling musician by then but there were periods where I would be home and had a little workbench to experiment. But those Mims books were treasures. I learned a TON from them about chips and circuits using them. Life got in the way tho and I became very busy with travel and whatever. Fast forward again to a couple of years ago and in my "retirement" I set up a dream little work bench and found all the old Mims books in PDF online. Free! I'm once again experimenting. Blinking LED's and building a synthesizer with sequencer. Lot's of fun!! But Mims was the Guru!!

Been stuck on this for a few weeks. I did the tutorial exactly as you did - but when I put the sd card into my computer, it gets stuck when loading the hard disk. If i pull the sd out, it recognizes it after a restart, and it boots from a mechanical disk fine. Need help with this 😅

been looking at that soldering gun for a while i have the pump its almost useless for smaller stuff usually the recoil punches what im working on ( not like there is much kick to it just the small hit from a still point usually kicks whatever small component i have and for that reason i almost never use it ive done good with the wick but sometimes the heat and time needed isnt very friendly with the component, i feel sold on the gun now

Gears misaligned? IS the shaft bearing down on the smaller gear on the motor side? Those clips are there for a reason and that's one of them. unless you bought the cheap 3d printed "replacements" that are hard plastic and don't come in contact wit the knurled drive spindles/wheels on both sides of the hidden shaft. (The ones the rubber should be in contact with)

That's the IEC Serial port, not the User-port. The User-port is the wide one on the far left on the C64. The one which was usually used for Modems back in the days, or WiFi modems nowadays. I am sure you already know this and are just brain farting all over the place. But there are newer generations of C64 users out there, who are confused enough as it is with these old relics. - Yeah, and by that, I guess I mean both us and the C64s 😅

Hey There! I am hoping you (or one of your other viewers) can answer a quick question about the basic monostable circuit. What is the output voltage (pin 3) when the output is "high"? I see conflicting answers online. Some say it is 1.5V and others say it is VCC minus 1.5V (or 2V in some cases). Thanks in advance!

“This back is ribbed for someone’s pleasure, but not mine” omggggg 😭😂😂😂😂😂😂 hilarious! Now, someone needs to make the replacement rollers SNAP IN instead of slide on. I just spent well over 4 hours doing this 😂 The roller on the right side (power side) was hard to push through to pull it out, so I used my Philips screwdriver and scraped some of the plastic off and I was able to get it through (I saw someone said they sanded it lol I was too impatient to try that) ANDDD I was able to put BOTH of the circlips on with a little patience! (*pats myself on my back*) THANK YOU FOR THE TUTORIAL!

Wow what a trip down memory lane. Any time my mom wanted to go to the mall she could bring me and let me loose knowing I'd be in one of 3 places, the arcade, the hobby shop or the back of radio shack. Loved the back of radio shack. I have all these notebooks and probably built 1 circuit from all of them lol. Great idea making the pcbs, love it!

At less than 3 &1/2 minutes, I tend to agree with the OP: it's not much of a review. Also, having spent 20 years doing full-time audio electronics repair and working with Hakko and Aoyue desoldering stations every day, if you're gonna use it more than a few times a year, or for a half or full day on occasion, I would suggest buying a unit with the pump in a separate box from the gun because it will be a lot easier on your hand when the gun is half or 1/3 of the weight, less bulky, and doesn't vibrate like this does because the suction motor is built directly into the gun. You can buy a Yihua or Aoyue desoldering station for well under 200 bucks.
