Zu den vorangegangenen Kommentaren ist nichts viel hinzuzufügen.... unrealistisch und unfair!Kämpft hier die Stahl-Lobby gegen Alu an und lässt sich die SUVA vor den Karren spannen? Bitte Test unter realen Bedingungen wiederholen und Video austauschen. Durch Bandfalldämpfer, Dynamikseil oder Absturzsicherungsgerät gedämpfter Fall an korrektem Anschlagpunkt. PS.: auf einer Plane oder Blache läuft man schon gar nicht umher!

No representive test, aluminium carabiner is not used with a shock absorber shock load became way to high

Doesn't the steel on steel test have an energy absorber added??? If so, not a fair test

none of them had absorbers added, but in the steel on steel test the carabiner gets caught up by the rope, which would significantly reduce the load on the biner, I wished it had slipped through like the aluminum one did to see if it would have failed by contacting metal on metal

At first two tests don't prove anything, beside that alu carabiner load on edge break easily, because in both cases carabiners was loaded in different way (axes). After all, great job, and very nice tests.

And did you measure resulting forces by any chance? Also why no shock absorber? Would've been more realistic Cheers Alex

This is not a fair comparison. The aluminium biner going through the gate of the steel one and getting crossloaded on the edge. The steel biner does not go through the gate of the (rigging) biner and gets caught in the loop of the rope and correctly loaded. I'm curious to see what would happen to a steel biner getting cross (or edge) loaded like the aluminium one. Cheers Alex

and when the big carabiner(mgo) is hooked in the wrong way with energy absorber,what is the result?

Für mich sieht es sogar so aus als seien die Karabiner in Test1 und 3 nicht am Material, sondern an Knickbelastung gebrochen. Im ersten Versuch (Zeitlupe) sieht man recht deutlich dass der Alu Karabiner zuerst die Verschlusshülse des ungünstig verklemmten Stahl Kollegen bricht (Längs- gegen Querbelastung), und anschliesend über der Kante bricht. Haben Sie den Versuch zufällig auch nur auf Zugbelastung durchgeführt? Wenn ja, könnten Sie das Ergebniss veröffentlichen?
