I bought one and returned it. 5 string in arctic white. Absolutely beautiful bass, but I think that it was the electronics/pickups that didn't work for me. That being said, I am thinking about picking up a used one and throwing in a pair of SD Apollo pickups and wiring it passive, because the thing was SO beautiful and nice to play.

Yeah my experience with these basses like the elite…they cut better on recordings but on live situations, they sound sterile. But yeah love both basses and I appreciate them

Do you still get a hum when soloing a pick up? I never noticed it before so I am not sure if it’s new, or it’s been there. Only have the bass about a month. Hum goes away when both pickups are on full so just like a regular single coils, but I thought it’s supposed to be noiseless. Love the bass though.

Never got those 60cycle hum. Yeah for me this is the ultimate jazz bass…having tested and played numerous jazz basses…from fbass, fender elite to ultra and player plus, lakland, sire…this thing over delivers

Of course not. That comes from stupid musicians lol. You're not gonna land exactly on the click anyway, you're a human not a midi machine. There's a reason we do two takes when we double track and not copy paste. We can't replicate a take perfectly, it doesn't matter how good you are, there are differences between takes even if you have a metronome. The difference is what makes double tracking sound full and great. That's because you are human.

I picked up the 4 string PJ Metroexpress recently, I know the phrase 'plays like butter' is overused but... it really does. I might possibly drop the Sadowsky VTC preamp in there at some point, but the more I play it, the less I feel it needs it. Tried it back to back in the store with some far more expensive Fenders and it wasn't even a contest, the Sadowsky came home with me, haha.

I know what you mean…felt the same. And yes the more I play it, the less the need to drop in a vtc….well for now. I have a snapshot with my hx stomp that controls that tone going from that modern slap thing to a vintage sounding jazz bass. And yes I wouldn’t trade this for a fender ultra sorry

Hi Bambam! I had a custom made one locally. Fenders will not fit the sadowsky as it differs in shape

Yeah, the Sadowsky Blue Label strings are amazing!!! Sadowsky hit a home run with this bass!!! If I didn't have my 1st Gen Sire V7 5 upgraded with Bartolini dual-coil pickups, I would get one! I may consider a MetroExpress P/J which sounds FANTASTIC on KZfaq videos that I've watched!!!
