Im proud of you and everyone that lives this kind of life. It's my dream. Life hasn't been exactly in my favor yet, but I do plan on making it happen. Hopefully when I'm ready to buy a boat I can find someone to live on board with me for awhile to show me the ropes and teach me.

He’s got the great freedom and flexibility of a mobile home on water while going to college! There are so many other people who would love to be in his situation. Thanks for highlighting the Gemini, a catamaran that can be Solo Sailed.

If you haven't already - record an onboarding video, where you mention these things, as well as whatever else you think is important for potential crew to know. Then make people watch it, if they are interested to become a crew.

If you're interviewing someone on their boat, it's very rude to compare it to your boat. Make it all about Jay's boat and Jay's plans, then make 50 segments all about YOU! Jay is so affable, sitting there, and you behave like a bafoon with your comparisons. Just make "THE ME SHOW". Not a good way to get or keep viewers.😮

Thank You for this video... definitely have put a pin into Luperon as my destination. I think your decision is a wise one. You have mentioned the challenges of isolation in your previous video. Staying in Luperon will provide You with that balance and You need.

Great video! I live aboard and sail solo most of the time. I share a lot of your thoughts on this. Like you I enjoy the freedom and self reliance when solo, especially on long offshore passages. The challenge is unique, a constant 1 on 1 battle with nature for control over one’s destiny! I enjoy the challenge of the mental discipline required. When coastal sailing I do like crew from time to time to share experiences ashore. I have a very small list of trusted crew that I know and get on well with. (Very laid back like me!) The ultimate for me is when I am sailing on similar routes with other solo sailors. We each have our own boat, space and freedom to go our own way but, when we operate synergistically we have company and security as well.

Only another KZfaqr can understand what another KZfaqr is going through. We dont get many bad comments but when our loyal viewers defend us, that is awesome. larry

Being a KZfaqr is one way to combat the loneliness, we have a great relationship with lots of our viewers, 28M views and lots of comments. But being an RVer vs a sailor, we have a big advantage to get with people easily. Im with you we have been adventuring continually for over 4 years, and we also dont party and dont drink, and are uncomfortable around people who do. I am worried that if i was solo, i wouldnt last long, i would do something dangerous like kiting alone, jumping off cliffs or something make a bad decision and the end. Larry

Hey dan, we live off grid much of the time while we travel in our RV. I had originally planned on living in a sailboat with my wife and travel florida and the Caribbean, but the wife would not do it so that’s why we have been living full time in an rv for over 4 years. I am helping a buddy sail his 46ft c&c from Ontario, Canada to florida next year, so that’s why im watching sailing channels again. I bought a 360 camera last fall after i saw it on your channel, on my first time wing foiling in the obx, it snapped off and lost it in 6 feet of water so bummed. I just picked up an x4 for our summer trip and hope to make good use of it. I am going a lot of vlogging with the DJI action 4 matched with the DJI mic 2, much better than the go pro. Love to see a complete video of how you film and what cameras you use. I would love to go to the Bahamas some day to dive, but also love to kite and foil so hard choice. The keys is still my favorite place, i kept my boat in islamorada for 10 years, traveling from central florida for dive, kite trips. Sorry for the long comment, just blabbing. Thinking out loud. Larry

Hey Dan, i think these crew experience videos would be so much better if you just have them vlog as they experience stuff, then slap it all together vs just talking head in the cabin reliving the experience. Just give them a go pro for the days they are there, vlog every day. I think people would like the authentic vlog style vs talk and b-roll video. Larry

Hey Dan, I have been following your channel on and off for a while. We are also content creators, youtubers but with an RV channel. We have been living full time in an rv traveling the us and canada, now on our 5th year on youtube.. We are in the middle of our trip to California, Oregon, Washington and BC this summer finishing back in the OBX like we have every November to so some awesome kiting and Wing foiling. I would love to hook up some day, and colab. We have 60 k subs and probably very similar audiences. We will be rving in the keys next winter from mid Jan to April, im there to dive and kite. I would love to find a way to hook up with you on the boat someday, or while we winter in florida. We have a lot of the same interests, diving, spearfishing, Kiting, video, photo and of course being travel youtubers. We are changing our style of videos over the next six months to vlog more, i think this style would really suit you and require much less editing, just vlog, quick cut, publish. So far our audience is responding very well. Hope to see you on the water, or land someday. Larry

What i dont get is why boat people dont buy Quest 3 (VRheadsets). Saves you ton of space and give much more "monitor surface" than this solution.

I have sailed on the Gemini cats. They are slow and definitely aren’t good for any significant sea state. The cockpit really isn’t very comfortable unfortunately.
