When I was younger I owned a 1985 CR500R and it was a beast, just an incredible amount of power. I’m 55 now but I’d love to find another one just to have it, bring back memories and such.

Road boots are no good for kicking a CR500! Lol. I had the same foot injury from kicking mine in work boots. Mx boots are the only way to go. Also 4 complete cycle slow kicks beforehand works wonders! Then one good kick from just past top dead center and she fires up first good kick every time!

Yes going fast on a gsxr is in fact to go fast, on a track dumbass. It takes literally a rock on a turn or even gravel and your gone dumbass. Ive been riding for 20 years and only ride like this on track. If you can’t afford to play on the track then don’t buy a POS bike. I plan on riding for 20 more and hopefully you do to. Just because today wasn’t your day doesn’t mean tomorrow won’t. You’re being ignorant and you should know that it’s not about the rider it’s about other people who’s at fault most of the time or random acts happening, animals, random tires, and debri. Any skilled rider that lives long enough to tell will tell you the reason why they made it was being smart. We are on bikes to have fun, but to risk your well being in a high stake poker hand hoping life doesn’t catch your bluff is a dumb game of chance. It’s not about why you crashed it’s about when. I’ve even had friends die on the track as well. I’m just saying to play your chances this high is dumb.

There was a guy on a forum i was on who was building his own 1000cc v twin 2 stroke using two CR500 top ends to go in an RS250 chassis iirc. Some of the pics of the crankcases he was machining himself were pure porn...hope it did finally happen...
