When the camera zooms in on Trey during the jam it reminds me of Marty McFly in Back to the Future, except the rest of the band and the crowd sound like they're on the same page.

The great Steven Gadd is still great but I'd rather hear a bass solo to most 🥁 drum solo's and i don't even like bass solo.

Stuff were a very good concert draw in the seventies. They filled audiences in Montreux, Germany and Japan, which shows how diverse they were. And I think Gordon Edwards is a great, but considerably forgotten bassist. Here he is playing a Fender Precision Bass through an Ampeg SVT amp.

Stuff is the greatest instrument band nobody has ever heard of much! They were all master musicians with many other bands they played with... but stuff was something special... funny u say gordan is great when he put this band together.

Any chance you could elaborate more? Sounds like no one was there for Phish besides Becky.
@bgkk75s Жыл бұрын
@@chumprock I was entering my sophomore year at Mt Alto. I had worked doing A/V stuff during my freshman year and recommended they bring Phish to play for the opening bbq in August. I had (still have) a copy of the demo tape that I played to get them the gig. My sister Rebecca (Becky) had been roommates with Mike Gordon in Burlington a few years earlier. The first band opened up but the lead guitarist wasn’t there due to a family emergency. To say that they sucked would be an understatement. Everyone finished their bbq lunches during the first band and headed back to the dorms. Phish came on and tried to get people up at the dorms to engage and come back down. In the end it was about 8 people watching Phish. My sister Becky, my mom, myself and a few that had come from Pitt and State College. It was probably the lowest attendance paid gig they ever had.

@@bgkk75s Thanks for the story! I had this show as an unlabeled cassette for years and only figured out it was the Mont Alto show back in 2014 and then uploaded it here when I found a (kind of) better source. Pretty cool to finally get some background with what seemed like an awkward set for the band.

@@bgkk75s Also, any chance you know who might have taped this show?
