I remember this was the king of wooden coasters in the early 1990s. It's sad how far this has fallen. Today this is one of the last 4 surviving dinn-built coasters.

There is no way to express the magic of DoLores Hadley's show seen as 8 year old child. It is unfortunate there is so little video record of it.

Dolores Hadley's La Famille marionettes were the most beautiful and amazing puppets I've ever seen! She was a master of puppetry, and I always couldn't wait to see her show each Summer and see what creations she had produced over the winter. I still miss this attraction, and am so thrilled to see this old footage of her show!

Absolutely! Her shows were amazing, fun to watch and entertaining for all. What talent and dedication to her audience.

***** Someone clearly hasn't been on Steel Force recently. Extreme floater in the back seat
@j-coasters8 жыл бұрын
Those people are going off of steel force which is a lot less intense than mamba. Mamba does have a ton of airtime. The most airtime is in the front. The MCBR has been light last season resulting in perfect floater air on the return trip. In the front seat, there is strong floater air on the first two large hills as well. Steel Force does give a drastically weaker experience than mamba. I've been on both.

In the 90s, Cedar Fair could have followed Six Flags Great America with B&M Inverted Coasters, but they stuck to their guns with hypercoasters. Mamba would be the last hypercoaster Cedar Fair built before Six Flags declared a war on hypercoasters by opening Raging Bull at Great America in 1999. Now we have the Dueling Dragons of today: Millennium Force at Cedar Point vs. Bizarro at Six Flags New England. My pick for this Dragon Challenge: MAMBA. Because I am a Fairly Odd Coaster enthusiast.

SarahPToadstool you can't compare a gigs to a hyper if anything it's millenium force vs intimidator 305

This layout looks so different from today. It's so much better looking this year.
@natekenny710610 жыл бұрын
This coaster was basically outdated from the time it was built. It's just Magnum XL-200 only 9 years later. Plus you have a coaster like Apollo's Chariot that is 10x as good as this and was built just a year later by B&M. This coaster was the last of the first generation of hyper coasters.
@natekenny71067 жыл бұрын
Milk Man Nah, height doesn't mean anything. Mamba has a 205 foot drop and AP has a 210 foot drop. But that's still not important. The difference between first and second generation hyper coasters is computer generated track profiling, meaning its level of smoothness can't compete. Don't get me wrong Mamba is a fine coaster, and Morgan Hypers are certainly better than Arrow hypers. But it's just a level below the second gen B&M and Intamin hyper coasters.
@bigsmellypoop6 жыл бұрын
Nate Kenny you realize comparing the best roller coaster at Williamsburg to one of the worst cedar fair parks isn’t fair right? Also mamba doesn’t get enough love I’ve rode magnum and mamba it’s my opinion that mamba is better, next time don’t hate on my home park
