If they are connected in series, then the voltage increases, but the Amps remains the same They can not be connected in parallel because they are of different volts(12v & 9v). However, if they are of the same voltage (12v &12v) or (9v & 9v), then they can be connected in parallel, then the volts remain the same, but the Amps/hour increases
