Fairport still perform this - very well - but it’s always Sandy’s voice I hear in my head. Just beautiful.

This is something of the past. They always used to have a ghost story on a Christmas always Christmas Eve and they used to be brilliant again something that’s no longer done.

With the other comments and this was wonderfully sang by Lesley Garrett who I still remember from her popular television programs some years ago. Thankyou Anthony.

Decided to check Sandy, forst song i clicked on, and I got to say I am moved to tears. My brother died in my arms in 2020 from an accidental overdose. Came home to find him and couldn't revive him. Not a day gose by I don't miss him. Just a week before he died we talked about being old men sitting on a porch reflecting on the good old day and in a second all that time I thought I had was gone. I love you brother

When I listen to the bagpipes on one hand I am wistful. On the other hand I smile a little, bc when my father deceased and we were reviewing the funeral plan (which was already determined before he died), the funeral planner asked if we wanted bagpipes at my dad's funeral. We looked at each other. The planner then started to say how people find bagpipes at the burial very moving. I said I like the bagpipes sound however as African Americans the bagpipes aren't part of our heritage. She then tried to interest us in a dove release.

For some reason, the melody here reminds me of parts of the 1981 'Brideshead Revisited' soundtrack by Geoffrey Burgon.

The 'Veni Creator Spiritus' is beautiful here. I normally hear it sung in Latin at Pentecost, but the Gaelic and Welsh translations in particular are quite lovely.

Bravo! Absolutely astounding from every perspective. My goodness! The camera angles, the passion on Gould’s face and grace and vigor of his hands and the delicate moves on the pedal to Bernstein’s emotional balanced dynamic conducting and Lester forget the orchestration. Bravo. Tears of joy! Oh, and lest we forget, that the spark of the divine brought forth that amazing composition from Bach’s grey matter. 😊

And you only have to look at what he's sacrificed and ask yourself is it worth the TRUTH, we all know it's the TRUTH and indirectly we've all been complicit, we all need to be vigilant and prioritise the safety of our families.

I love the music of Finzi. My favourite piece of his is 'Dies Natalis'. I met his son, Christopher Finzi, at a performance of it a few years ago.
