I use focal reducers with Olympus OM Zuiko glass, which is not auto-focus, and which is really tiny and lightweight. So John's reasons for not using a focal reducer don't apply.

Thank you.. i’m also considering to get speedbooster for myself but decided to hold that thought. After i went to a camera shop and looked at those fulframe Canon, Sigma and Nikon lenses, i just have a second thought about how small the MFT lenses. I guess i just have to settle down with Sigma prime MFT and Lumix lenses. I have a GH5ii camera. Glad to watch this video and hear about your thoughts about not using speedbooster. I don’t any FF lenses. Thus it is not practical for me. Thank you.

Great video, i have Sigma 16mm and 56mm for my GH5ii. Really happy to have bought it. Really am thinking to get this 30mm lens but at the same time i’m worried this lens will be redundant with my 56mm. What do you think?

It's not gonna be redundant as this is very close to 50mm equivalent so you'll be able to use it indoors more easily and still be a good distance so your not in people's faces at events etc... if you don't do events and are usually outdoors then I can see where it would be redundant

So was this footage shot at 60fps and then rendered at 24? The KZfaq "stats for nerds" toggle is showing me that it's playing at 4k24 and I'm trying to find what this camera looks like rendered at 4k60 so your title threw me off.

Are you using a simple adapter with that or a speedbooster ? Which model exactly?

No adapter. These are the native lenses for M4/3.

I have an important question though, assuming you own both of the speedboosters, is there a difference between the viltrox ef m2 and the Metabones ultra 0.71? ...is there an enough difference to consider metabones instead of viltrox....is a speedbooster for the G9 really worth it or should I stick with the metabones smart adapter instead?

Super helpful video! I’m just getting into wildlife videography, bought my first camera the gh6, and on the fence between canon ef 100-400 4.5-5.6 with .71 metabones SB, or the Lumix 100-400 4.0-6.3 native tele. Since I’ll be shooting birds and insects in mornings and evenings, which would you recommend?

100% would go with the native lens in this scenario. With the metabones autofocus will be quite bad and also if your shooting birds and insects shallow depth of field will not be on your top priority list so no reason to go with a big ole canon lens. You will be more effective with the native lens that gets a longer reach anyways.

How comes there are people reporting of issues with the speed booster then? Many people saying they notice a loss of sharpness and distortion? Are they using bad quality speedboosters? I'm asking because i'm genuinely interested, i've never used a speed booster before and i'm about to buy a Pocket 4K camera and want to make sure i'm getting the best from my Contax lenses...

Sigma has a docking accessory for calibrating this lens and others. But you can’t go wrong as you skill progresses with prime cinema lenses.

Is autofocus in the lens or body? A vast majority of today's cameras do not have autofocus motors inside the camera body, but rely on tiny motors built into the lenses, which are controlled from the camera itself.

The motors are part of the lens. The camera controls how the motors move.

I've decided to use this mode on my G9 for my Sirui 35mm anamorphic lens. I now get a much wider shot and higher resolution because of the desqueezing process. I use 3:2 I believe, it's actually wider than 4:3. both 3:2 and 4:3 have more vertical resolution than UHD or DCI but 3:2 is slightly wider. It's like a anamorphic cheat code for MFT! The GH6 has open gate and some great 4:3 5.8k and 5.7k options for exceptional anamorphic shooting. Still may end up going for a S5 with a L mount Sirui lens because I can get a S5 for $1300 used.

Don't you feel bad knowing that you can't obtain a full frame deep depth of field? that's the only reason that keeps me hesitating about going exclusively in MFT mode.

@@androidgameplays4every13 If your worried about not getting enough DOF then id say just go Full Frame. You can get a full frame look on MFT by just getting faster lenses. F1.4 primes can give you a nice shallow depth of field and there are even some nice F0.95 lenses out there but no autofocus. Currently you can get the look of a full frame camera using an F1.8 lense right now but if your wanting the F1.4 look it would be impossible unless you used a speed booster which in my opinion defeats the purpose of MFT.

Yes very much a manual focus only lens for mirrorless. May be better with a cannon but it's not gonna be perfect
