City Fiber installed fiberoptic on my street. When they were installing it, I talked to the employee that the entire network was ready, they were finishing some minor details. I ordered online and now they tell me it's not possible. City fiber is a SCAM. I know that I can install the Internet and they lie that I can't

They wonder why Openreach had such a monopoly, City Fibre dont impress me much and im sure Vodafone isnt impressed either. Im sure though Vodafone will end up buying them out as they will no longer have to pay a middle man to deliver through the last mile, Vodafone already own Cable & Wireless which is what gave them the boost in the fixed line market, either that or Vodafone will revert back to Openreach in those areas. Im sure all these altnets especially City Fibre and G Network will end up being taken over by Vodafone by the end of the 2020s

Well, then you got another local builder. The same thing happens with the german fiber company "Deutsche Glasfaser". Some communities are really happy, and some are just pissed, because the work done is of poor quality. With some contractors you win and with some you loose.

it's also worth noting that the bell he is muffling is one of the oldest bells in Britain, maybe even Europe still in use, made around 1297 AD

in my tower no ones allowed to put muffles or go near bells when there up i wont allow it and nor will our tower captain iam very surprised how when he moved the clapper the bell didnt come off the balance as when bells are up there weightless the slightest nudge and theyd be no stopping it the bell would of swung round dangerously and possibly borke the stay before ringing itself down with the rope downstairs dangerously flapping about

All the bells are up. If this gentleman loses his balance, and falls, he will have tons of bronze moving under and through him, with belts and pulleys that would act like limb scissors if you accidentally put an arm into it. It is something very dangerous really

Anybody who knows the 1st thing about bells is that you do not walk among them whist they are up, what a stupid video to show you putting the muffles on bells that are up.

In the event that the clappers are truely inaccessible when down, surely it would be prudent to mitigate the risk by ringing up a bell at a time, fitting a muffle, and ringing it down prior to raising the next.

I'm assuming, GB, you run cabling underneath the road? That must be expensive.
@mr.afrikaans1747

@@mr.afrikaans1747 Did you watch the video? lol. I'm referring to 6:15 where the road is being dug up.
@florichi
@florichi 2 жыл бұрын
@@jay-uo2biYes, the digging is the most expensive part about it. But you can actually save some money by not having to use shielded cable against squirrels, or having to install splice cabinets on each pole. And a cable being damaged underground happens way less than one being damaged in the air.
@jay-uo2bi
@jay-uo2bi 2 жыл бұрын
@@florichi I understand underground being far superior to over ground, but I'm from Australia and am confused as to why it's done this way. For any road built within the last 2-3 decades all power lines and comm/data lines go through simple shared pits and pipes along or beside footpaths (always in soil, not in roads or anything). It's great as retrospectively cabling can easily be added, replaced or repaired and there is room in the pits for optical splitters etc. I suppose it's not perfect as the pvc piping can be struck by tree roots and can collapse after several years but seems simpler then repeatedly digging up roads and micro-trenching. No micro-trenching or direct burying under the road.
@florichi
@florichi 2 жыл бұрын
@@jay-uo2bi Honestly I don't know why in Austria or other countries pits that can receive more cable or ducts in the future aren't used. It's kinda a "well, why should I as Utility company X install a pit so others can deplay their services cheaper? I can't profit from it and it's more expensive". And our roads are either really old, so fitting such a system is not feasable, or they are newly built with the concept of just laying empty pipes you can pull other stuff through if you want.

Note no audio makes it look quite whereas the truth is they shout at each other with ear protection on so you can guess how loudly they shout. They will also wake you up at 8am on a Sunday morning they have no empathy for disabled either & will talk about you behind your back. I asked one of them if my career would be able to park after some time wasting he said he could move his van then as I walk back in I hear there’s always one what always one disabled person callous company. They also are very scam like 25% faster* you have to look real hard as they Purposely put it in light ink & honestly you need a microscope to see it 25 times faster* than copper 😮who had copper nowadays unless you live in the 2000 eara you already have fibre !
